TerribleFirst of all, Harrington's 102 boasts misleading information on the standards of their accommodation. "Luxury apartments" and "modern accommodation" are the last adjectives I would imagine describing this place. The place is absolutely filthy, with the staff claiming that they "were not obliged to clean the room or offer room service as they only provided budget accommodation". The rooms and building was infested (see photos), dust had settled everywhere and cobwebs hanging from the walls, it was obvious that the rooms hadn't been cleaned even before we checked in. Surely a minimum standard of cleanliness would be expected for a budget hotel? The staff were pretty ignorant, and were not able to accommodate basic requests like extra pillows/blankets, and to be quite frank they were preoccupied with the running of their chinese restaurant downstairs. It was fair to say that the only two instances we had their attention was during check in, and 2 minutes past our check out when they accessed our room to inform us we had to leave. The walls were paper thin, and windows poorly sealed, allowing noise from the neighbours and the loud bars adjacent the property. Not recommended for light sleepers at the weekends! The poorly sealed room was also filled with unpleasant smells from when the weekly garbage collection truck did its round. Will not recommend to anyone and certainly will not return. Don't be wasting your dollars here!

FILTHY AND DANGEROUS!DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! We booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1...it was just horrific! Could not get out of there quick enough! Room was filthy! Mould in the shower and in the hand basin, windows are glass bricks and there is no way to let any fresh air in, we had half a toilet roll and had to ask for another one. There is a restaurant down stairs but no clear way escape if a fire broke out. Rooms are tiny, claustrophobic and substanded!!

Overpriced Restaurant Backroom AfterthoughtWe had booked our road trip round Tassie holiday well in advance but had a last minute family illness which prompted us to nearly have to cancel everything. Adequate recovery meant the trip was back on, 2 days out. We were left with little choice of affordable family accommodation in Hobart for our first night before getting our camper so picked this place. Bad move. Situated upstairs from an Asian restaurant it is noisy, bathroom shocking and was unclean. There is no separate room control for heating, curtains falling off the glides, open partition to rooms. For $240 a night youd expect more. There wasnt even a teaspoon! We are posting this before the nights end but with a pub next door doubt itll get better. Cant wait to get into the camper

Not as portrayedWe booked this holiday late last year for six nights. Looking up details before departing we noticed that all reviews in January were extremely critical. On arrival we mentioned this to the friendly staff in reception and stated that we would pay for one extra day and if everything was OK we would pay for the other four. She did say that if we didnt pay then that she could not guarantee the room would be available. We had a peaceful night and in the morning we decided that we would stay the extra nights. There was no one on reception at 8am when we left so left a note asking for the next four nights. On our return in the afternoon we were informed that the Saturday night was booked but we could have the next three nights. We declined and booked into the nearby Travel Lodge. The room is small has a wardrobe, tv, air conditioning, fridge and the wifi is excellent. Both bedroom and bathroom are in need of sprucing up but were clean. A drawback is that both have windowbricks which allows in light but you cannot see out and cannot access fresh air. Friday night into the early hours of the morning there was a constant thump from a nearby club - a good set of ear plugs would solve the problem. I imagine Saturday would be the same. The hotel is ideally placed for cafes, restaurants, pubs, clubs and places of interest. Putting it into perspective the hotel is just one star but considering it is less than half the cost of other hotels is value for money. Would we stay there again - probably not.

Small neat clean. But death trapThese small but clean and neat rooms with en-suite are up a narrow staircase. No lift or other way up and down. No external fire escape or other way out or the building. Situated above a restaurant so a high fire risk. Not sure how they even pass public building standards. No windows only glass bricks. Great location Cheap Great air con.
