  Buena situación

  El hotel en si es bastante basico antiguo aunque algo reformado desayuno bastante escaso solo pan y cereales no dispone bolleria y poco variedad de zumos por la habitacion la limpieza algo escasa en la habitación por el resto bien aparcamiento gratuito delante del hotel y wifi gratis

  Nice hotel, good location

  Very good location right next to the tourist information center, a supermarket and several restaurants. A short walk takes you to the waterfront with a beautiful view of the valley. If you come with your own car, the ride from the hotel to Trolltunga parking takes about 20 min. There is a small parking lot in front of the hotel entrance that is free and reserved for the guests of the hotel. We spent four nights here and were always able to park there. The hotel has a nice bar and very friendly and informative staff. Downside for the hot days is that the hotel has no air conditioning. In addition, the breakfast contains a lot of small single-packed portions of jam, butter, honey etc., which creates a lot of plastic waste on each meal. The rooms also come with single-packed plastic cups instead of actual glasses.

  Difficult to give a proper judgement ... to have to make up your own mind

  When we looked for a hotel in the Odda region we realized that there is not much ... especially when you look for a higher level of accomodation. nevertheless we booked us into the hardanger and this is what we got: we had two rooms in the newer part of the building (423, 425) which were really spacious and which can be combined to an apartment hosting 4-6 people - so ideal for a family. 4 stars. we had a nice view towards the fjord. 4 stars if you filter out the industry buildings of the aluminium plant in the distance. having the advantage of the view has at the same time the disadvantage facing the road which lots of cars / motor bikes and a public square being used by the youth until late night. so rooms to the rear could be more comfortable. furniture: very simple, looked like a collection of grandmothers and second hand stuff; no housekeeping, only fresh towels hanging on the door in the morning - 1-2 stars. breakfast: simple products, service far away from price level 1-2 stars. total impression: lots of room for improvement. probably hardanger hotel is the "first" adress in odda, but not because of it´s own strength but the even greater weaknesses of the others. it really depends on what your expectations are - we read e.g. a totally enthusiastic report (5 stars) about staying in a multi-bed dorm at the trolltunga hotel - so make up your own mind. dinner recommendation: definetly the trolltunga hotel. hike recommendation: buarbreen

  Fjord view in a nice location

  This is an older hotel, but has been updated, with comfortable rooms and a nice view of the fjord. The gentleman at the desk (also the barman) was extremely friendly and helpful with advice. Located "downtown" near restaurants and shops, and across the street from the visitors' center. They have limited free parking out front, and a decent breakfast. The location and helpful staff are what bumped this from average to very good for us.

  One step above a cabin

  My husband and I were thinking about hiking the trolltunga, so we stayed at the Hardanger Hotel since it was really close to the trail parking. We stayed in room 507, which did have an awesome balcony with great views of Odda. There was a strange smell in the room, which we opened the window to air out. The hotel is pretty basic, one step up from a cabin. There is no toiletries offered or a hairdryer within the room. I was able to borrow a hairdryer from the front desk. There were limited outlets so we had to unplug a few things in the room, in order to charge our phones. Parking in the front of the hotel fills fast, there's another lot in the back however it's tricky to find and hard to unload luggage from. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is included, which was nice. Simple offering, but good. There are stores, restaurants and bars within walking distance of the hotel. Overall my husband and I were not super impressed and probably will not return. Not due to anything in particular, just as comfortable as we would have liked.
