Best deal in HanoiOutrageous. The walk-up price we paid for a fourth-floor double was $10/night DURING TET! The room was HUGE, the bed was comfy, the cable TV always worked, and the bathroom was also the biggest we had in Hanoi. The windows were too high to offer a view, but worked to circulate air without letting in noise from the street. The room also included both A/C and a fan. Linens were changed every two days or so. The hotel is just a short walk from Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter. The owner spoke great English and was very, very friendly. His assistants' English ranged from very good to poor, but everyone was very friendly.

If you like cheap, this hotel is for youWe booked for only one night to see if we liked this hotel and we left the next morning. You will have to make your own decision if you want to stay here, it is very cheap accommodation. But I must say the staff were very friendly and helpful,

Managers not honourableRising Sun Hotel or The Royal 2 hotel in 11 Hung Manh Hanoi. The young managers let me down because there are not honourable. The agreed rate of 315,000 dong per night including breakfast and Wi-Fi. On checkout they tried to charge more twice. The room was not serviced during my 4 day stay. And the towels where very thin. Breakfast was very basic and Wi-Fi strength was weak. The air-con was not cold and the fan was noisy. The room was large, clean, hot water with good pressure. Too much light entered the room at night-time. Too many stairs to the room and no air-con in the hotel. The staff and mangers spoke good English and where very helpful just let down by their lack of honour ability. There is much better and cheaper hotel near buy.

Went from bad to worse!Only three things good about this hotel were the satellite TV channels, in room wifi and the working air conditioning unit. We were moved here from another hotel as they had overbooked. We got a room on one of the lower floors (there is no lift). The floor was dirty, telephone not plugged in to anything, mattresses thin and sheets not particularly clean and a dirty bathroom with a huge hole in the wall, mould, mildew and cockroaches. Maybe the toothbrush provided is for comical juxtaposition? We stayed for one night and decided that we could put up with the room for another night (we did not want to move for 3rd time in 3 days) so asked whether it was possible to stay in the room. We were assured that it was fine, room was booked for us etc, would be $12 per night. (this was price on Agoda too). Later that evening we go to our original hotel to say we are staying there, thank you very much, and Royal 2 Hotel had called our original hotel to say they were full and had no room for us. We were very worried because all of our stuff was in the room that supposedly had someone else going in it. We hot footed back to get our stuff to be told we could stay if we wanted but it would be $27 per night. We could have booked for less than $12 on agoda that very minute so we thought this wasn't such a good deal. The staff were rude and insistent that unless we paid that price we couldn't stay. The manager was awful, shouting at us and making racist comments. So we went packed up and went back to our original hotel which was MUCH better. Also, my friend left some clothes hanging on the bathroom door when we moved back to the original hotel, the Royal 2 Hotel knew where we were staying however did not contact us to say they had found the clothes. Unfortunately we didn't realise until we had left Hanoi for Thailand so had no way of getting them back.
