Very Poor Professionalism and Customer Service and Unreasonable Extra Charges

Things happen when you are on the road, this hotel and its management/ownership is out to capture fees for anything they can. Think about having a staff that is looking for a reason to charge you extra. Here is my story.   Customer service at this location is the worst ever.  Not only were they incredibly rude, but they charged me 350 for carrying a dog in their lobby.  Dog never touched the floor.  I was waiting for my daughter to pick up her chihuahua, which was with me in California, on a business trip, I brought her dog to her.  When I arrived at the hotel, I checked in and waited outside for my daughter to arrive to pick up the dog.  I was freezing outside so I had the dog in my arms and went into the lobby to get hot tea while I waited.   This is where I was confronted by the most unreasonable and unprofessional front desk clerk of my life.  I have been a diamond Hilton Honors Member for years, with pandemic I am now only a silver.  Nevertheless, when I re-entered the hotel after giving my daughter her dog, the man behind the counter required me to open my coat to prove I was not hiding the dog.  and then after that still charged a $350 fee to my credit card.  When I called Aray was rude, argumentative and followed up with "You can call my General Manager but you will get the same answer".  Not only will I never stay at this franchisee's hotel again, owned by Jason Gerard, I may not use Hilton anymore if I do not get help from the Hilton Honors club.  When I called the club they gave me a case.  They called the hotel, and they were quite surprised when the hotel admitted they could not verify the dog was in the room.  The unethical part of this was that they say it is for cleaning a room that had a dog in it but clearly they did not spend any extra money on cleaning my room that never had a dog in it.  Even if they charged a reasonable amount I might be more understanding.  Think about any anything that may go wrong here.  If this is how the react to a chihuahua in their lobby imagine if you make noise, or break the ice bucket, or a towel is missing.  WOW.  Think before you patronize this establishment.

    Disrespected by unnecessary additional fees.

Nice hotel interior. The price per night is highest in Reno. They have a $25 early check in fee if your an hour early. (As in my case.) Ive stayed at many hotels. This is the only hotel that has asked me for additional fees.

    Very lacking

Drove from Moab and got into Reno at 1am on New Years morning. Got the last room which was a suite and we had 3 adults. This is all ok but...no blankets in the room and it was cold! No extra pillows for the fold out bed. Couldnt get the heater to work and the phone in the king room didnt work so you had a real hassle getting to the front desk to get blankets. Never did get the heater working as front desk didnt know how to reset and/or work it. Not worth the $200. But I guess beggars cant be choosers.

    Not your standard Hampton inn

Arrived at 7pm and room was not ready. Finally at 7:30pm room is ready. Tesla chargers are broken and have been broken for several months. Management doesnt care they send you next door to charge. Breakfast was terrible, but I guess it due to COVID. Worst Hampton Inn I stayed at.

    Weekend visit

Room was ready before we arrived late afternoon. Check in was courteous. Room 402 (king suite room) was spacious with a separate bedroom and sitting room. Clean and a lotta room for a couple. It had a mini fridge and microwave in room. Only missing a small safe. The breakfast was decent, but ends early at 830am. I saw a fitness room with some cardio machines and there's an indoor pool, but didn't use either this time due to COVID. I'd stay here again. We got the AAA rate here.
