Talk about friendlyWe got to the area a day early and stayed here because they had availability, and the one night stay was great... But the whole night was great only because of the two people at the front desk... I asked if they had a dinner recommendation and it turned into a 7 minute conversation, friendliness just makes a difference... Maybe over priced we stayed in a king suite because that's what was available room was ginormous I mean it was huge, clean, very nice...

Horrible service and allowed marijuana smokingAllows illegal activities and disrupts patrons visits Review of Hampton Inn & Suites Michigan City Pending review 91801027 resv # This new Hampton allows disruptive "bachelorette" and Marijuana smoking that back-flows through the ventilation system. We chose this venue as a first honeymoon night. It made my new bride ill and we left after only three hours. This is not our first Hilton/ Hampton visit and we have never left a venue before. The front desk was no help when we said we could call police and they scoffed at us for asking for help. We chose not to call the county police to avoid a confrontation. The rooms should never be used for overcrowded room "parties" in a venue not designed for them.

Terrible night staffMy husband, my nine year old son and I stayed 2 nights here. We were here with another couple and their kids for a mini Christmas trip. It was a terrible experience. Someone said we were being too loud at 10:15 pm so the manager came up to yell at us, with no mask on, and then proceeded to call the police on us an hour and half later because I sent an email to management. We were woken up at midnight by a police officer accusing us of chasing the manager down the hall. We were literally sleeping when he arrived. No one chased anyone down the hall so the night shift worker was essentially trying to file a false police report to get my husband, my nine year old and me kicked out of the hotel in the middle of the night for no reason! Dont stay here ever! I just hope she doesnt steal my personal information as she is obviously an unsavory character!

If you want to smell a CSI episode in real life...They expected us to pay $250 for a tiny room and one hour in the swimming pool. It was supposedly the only room they had in the large hotel, but it was on a weekday near no holidays, in the offseason, and their parking lot had eight cars in it. Does that sound suspicious to you? The clerk knew we were there for the pool and hot tub to help my screaming joints during our 9-hour drive, but she didn't tell us there was a one-hour time limit until AFTER she ran my card. I wasn't happy about that at all, but I was in a ton of pain, so we went up to the room anyway. As soon as we opened the door, the smell hit us. It was like being in a CSI episode: decomp! It smelled like someone had hidden a decomposing body under the bed or something. My son gagged. We turned right around, went back downstairs, and politely let the clerk know that we would not be staying and wanted a refund. The clerk said they may or may not give me that refund. The time limit on the pool and hot tub area was ridiculous, and the room reeked (and we didn't use it, so it's not like they had to clean it or anything), so why wouldn't they give me a refund? I had to dispute it with my credit union. We travel that path often and will never go to that hotel again. Why does that room smell like rotting flesh?! They have ozone machines and deodorizer sprays for stuff like that. I have one word for that place: disgusting.

A good property with a few issuesI stayed at this property in room 407 a double queen bedded room for one night while working in NW Indiana area during COVID19 outbreak PROs Lots of everything nearby, restaurants, stores, etc. Decent bed with mix of foam and feather pillows Has workout room, indoor pool which are open by appointment Cube fridge and small microwave Two bedside outlets for power with 2 USBs 3 outlets and 2 USBs at work desk Large, updated bath area with decent lighting and large vanity for cosmetics/toiletries Attendant served hot or cold breakfast, or grab and go, despite COVID CONS Light sleepers beware, moderate traffic sounds enter room Work chair is for show only not made for work Desk lamp is counterproductive to laptop use. Always in the way Hair growing on bathroom fan ceiling vent No night light in bathroom. Really Hilton? They are a $1.00 at Walmart Carpet squares look dated and are fraying/curling up Door to room doesnt close on its own. It hangs up on door frame Pricey Overall a decent property, but missing the finer points to score higher. I would give this property an 85/100 and a 72/100 for value. I would also give them a 85/100 for COVID policy. Masks were consistently worn by staff, but room didnt feel/smell CLEAN (not Febreze clean, Lysol clean). Plenty of hand sanitizing stations, pool and workout room was monitored and available for use on an appointment basis, a disappointing sign of the times. I would try other properties the next time Im in the area, while a good property the price is quite high for a Hampton Inn (even using AAA rate)
