  Confidence in times of Covid19

  We visited over the weekend, with this being our first hotel stay in 6 months, which is quite unusual for us as we normally travel a lot. We arrived with some trepidation, but were quickly put at ease. Automatic door and plexiglass shields in the reception were a good start. Everybody wore masks, and we could tell that the room had been thoroughly cleaned. A reliable brand is a reliable brand. Thanks for making us feel welcome and safe.

  Very up to date and clean

  The hotel cost is on the higher side, but all seem to be in Duluth. Nice accommodations, standard size room with 2 beds we slept in. Due to covid we couldn't use the hottub in whivh we wanted since we just went hiking all day, but understandable, pool size was fine, didn't use it. Breakfast was ala cart due to Covid, hot food was ok, but very accommodating.

  Trying to be safe

  I usually would mention the comfort and function of a Hampton Inn but in these unusual times I will discuss safety. The check in area was set up for minimum contact. I appreciated the cleanliness of the room. In the past it would be customary to have a variety of items at a breakfast buffet and a crowded breakfast room. Instead, there were masks, social distancing, and taking your food back to your room. There was one person serving hot items and choices of cereal, yogurt, and muffins. The new protocols seemed carefully followed and designed both to start the day with a good meal but also to keep hotel guests safe.

  I've stayed here before, really hate to write this review

  I've stayed here several times before without problems, so I really hate to write this review, but here goes. We stayed there Christmas night. I understand that business is slow during COVID and there is minimal staff at Christmas but the following happened. The refrigerator didn't work. When we called the desk they told us to pull the refrigerator out of the cupboard and press the reset button. There was a ground fault receptical back there that had to be reset. The refrigerator started but still didn't make much cold. The fancy poser draps in the bed side of the room refused to work. Nobody available to look at them and yhere is apparently no manual override.. They never did work. The ones on the other side did work. Not good for a ground floor room. While moving the refrigerator to reset it a used plastic spoon fell out. The TV doesn't swivel enough to see comfortably from either the bed or couch. We had to move the whole table to watch the Vikings game. The couch is very uncomfortable to sit on. The last two were design problems, not maintenance problems. We were in a handicapped room (103) and there probably wasn't another one to trade. We didn't ask and none was offered. I don't know about coming back someday.

  Comfortable, clean, convenient.

  We stayed in a king suite for one night. The room was very clean and spacious. There were enough seats so that we could comfortably eat dinner and breakfast at the table. There are restaurants nearby so that you can get your meal curbside and go to your room to eat. Breakfast is served "to go," there were hot and cold options.
