  Booze and Drugs

  Great place to stay, good location, good Hampton Inn. BUT please try not to Valet your car because when you get it it will smell like drugs and booze. This trip I had my personal vehicle so I parked on the street the second night. Unfortunately you are required to valet, so make your choice.

  One night stay on our way through Missouri

  My wife and I stayed at the Clayton Hampton Inn for one night during our trip out of Illinois and into Missouri. I want to thank the staff for our comfortable stay. Due to the Covid crisis the hotel had implemented policies that made sure we had a safe stay such as you having to ring in and identify yourself as a guest when you check in. The lobby elevators and room were all spotlessly clean. The pool for obvious reasons was closed but we had free use of the Lobby. We ordered takeout from Chessecake factory and with sone bottled margaritas we had ourselves a nice meal in the Lobby. Again a big thanks to the staff for our pleasant stay, post coronavirus quarantine

  Staff Makes All The Difference

  it's clear that traveling and staying in hotels during the pandemic is not fun. but i have to say the Hampton Inn Clayton really handles things great. Best of all, the man at the front desk during our stay was terrific. so friendly, constantly working to keep the lobby area clean/disinfected and offering to help us every time we walked by. best of all he had creative face masks like his St. Louis Cardinals mask.

  Time to Upgrade the Hotel

  Maybe the place changed owners since I last stayed there or maybe they dropped their game because of COVID-19 but it is not the nice hotel it once was. Even after housekeeping came, not once but twice in the same day, the room was not clean. And this was after I vacated the room for three hours so the house cleaner would not be exposed to any virus or germs. The rooms are dark and in need of an upgrade. I to check out early and move to another hotel.

  comfortable and in lovely area

  We stopped for one night on our drive from Arkansas to Baltimore, trying to be as safe as possible given the COVID realities. We used keyless check-in and entry so only interacted with staff by phone, but they were very helpful and attentive to my requests. The room was quite nice and comfortable, and quiet. The hotel is in a lovely, quiet residential area but not far from places to eat, etc.
