My oasis away from the beach!I love visiting the Sapphire Valley when I need a getaway from the beautiful beaches of Charleston, SC, and on of my favorite places to visit is This Hampton Inn tucked perfectly into the heavens. Staff is always great, rooms are always clean and if you're looking to do some hiking you've got trails in all directions.

Clean, Courteous, & Comfort During COVIDEven a business trip carefully planned can be undertaken with little concern for this pandemic. Our destination was Highlands. However, there was nary a room to be had. Problem solved with this Hampton Inn just 17 miles east of our destination. Upon entering the lobby one is greeted with the masks required and maintain 6 feet separation between other guests signs. Okay we get it...got to be careful as we travel!!! All that aside, the bubbly greeting from a charming desk clerk...masked behind her sneeze shield...gave us reason to be a bit less apprehensive about our first overnight business trip in 5 months. We were informed about the sanitation protocol in the rooms as well as the protocol for the complimentary breakfast... all items plated for you by an attendant...no more DIY as we had become accustomed. Our room was sparkling...but this was no different from what weve come to expect at the several Hamptons weve patronized in the past. No drinking glasses...only throw away cups sealed in plastic bags. The TV remote had been sanitized and sealed in a plastic bag as well. As I looked around to discover any signs of a missed cleaning opportunity, I found none! The bathroom...an obvious place to find a cleaning indiscretion...was sparkling to my naked eyes. The closet floor and shelf....again without nary a dust ball! All the furnishings appeared fresh. The room emitted an air of cleanliness that was comforting during these stressful times. And the surroundings in this quaint mountain location just east of Cashiers NC was delightful. Several restaurants were opened. Ours was wonderful with dining on the covered deck. Social distancing being thoughtfully observed, the mountain air and soft breeze added to the ambiance of our evening meal. Upon return to the Hampton, our bubbly desk clerk was found with Clorox wipes in her gloved hands sanitizing the desk area and the elevator key pads...inside and out. Our evening concluded with a restful sleep preparing us for a busy day ahead. Thank you Hampton Inn/ Sapphire Valley for a wonderful overnight stay!

Safe stay for vacationStayed for 4 nights in Oct '20 to enjoy the fall leaves that Florida can't provide. The hotel took all precautions to make their guests feel safe in these new times, with plexiglass barriers at the check out area, and no common area seating. Housekeeping kept up with ad hoc requests for towel exchanges, and toiletry refills. Only 1% of the staff was not wearing a mask that I observed, but everyone else did wear a mask. Would stay here again next time I visit for fall colors.

Great StayThis was a weekend trip to the mountains. The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice. The hotel staff handled the COVID-19 safety measures very well and we felt safe and comfortable with the stay. Everyone wore their masks properly up over their noses and we were given the option at check-in to not have our room cleaned daily, but instead to have clean towels dropped off outside our door each day. This was promptly done by the hotel staff and worked out well for our trip. The breakfast was also handled very well in regard to safety measures.

AVOID!! This hotel should be shut down!My husband is Hilton Diamond Member and we always stay at Hilton properties. This Hampton Inn was worse than a Days Inn! When we pulled up at 4pm on NY Eve, we could see that the trash cans had not been emptied in probably a week. Upon getting our room key we headed up the elevator to our room which was not what we booked! The carpet in the hallway was full of dirt, food wrappers and had not been vacuumed in quite some time. The room was disgusting! There was ketchup stains on the blinds. The desk chair had food on it and stains on the arm. The remote was not sealed with plastic (as is the Hilton standard) and the door was not sealed as is also their standard to show that it had been cleaned. We have stayed at 4 Hilton properties during Covid and all of them have been excellent about cleanings and keeping the hotels spotless. This hotel needs to be shut down and investigated. Ive never been so upset at a hotel in my life. We left the hotel and had to scramble to find a room for the night. We were scheduled to stay 3 nights. However, our vacation was ruined!!!! As all the hotels were booked for the weekend. The manager has yet to call us. Shame on her! My husband spoke to Hilton and we are waiting for the corporate higher ups to contact us. Please do not stay here! This is not a Hilton quality hotel!
