  Most compassionate visit ever

  My husband and I had to make an emergency trip to the area when our son had to have emergency surgery. He is a freshman @ University of the Cumberlands and was taken to Baptist Health in Corbin and had emergency surgery to remove his appendix. After our son was discharged from the hospital only about 12 hours after surgery we stayed an additional day to give him an opportunity to recover some before we had to drive 5+ hours home. We got him a separate room so he could sleep without being interrupted. I asked for a couple of extra disinfectant wipes so I could wipe his room down before and after we brought him back to the hotel from the hospital. Housekeeping gave me a whole pack to use with a smile. Then when it came to check out I inquired if I could buy extra pillows to make travel more comfortable for our son and they didnt have any to purchase but the general manager, Chris overheard and went to housekeeping and gave us 2 pillows that he said were a little worn but clean. These gestures during a stressful time were so appreciated. True southern hospitality. In addition, the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The morning breakfast was more than others weve experienced since Covid. Although this trip was under less than ideal circumstances we were comfortable and left grateful.

  Newly renovated

  This was a great place to stop on our trip; its right off 75. Very clean. The rooms are newly renovated. Shower was fantastic! Comfortable bed. The room darkening shades are no joke...woke up at 8am and it was pitch black in the room!

  Passing through

  We stayed at this Hampton Inn on our way to Florida from Ohio. Highly recommend. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the front desk folks were friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this property-perfect for a stop over right off of I-75.

  Nice property - Good Value

  We spent last night here during a 3 day trip south. PLUS: * Good value at $104 * 30 seconds of I-75 in Corbin * Gas stations and restaurants within a minute of hotel * All staff members wore masks * Hand sanitizer stations located all over the hotel * The room had obviously been very well cleaned. * Updated property * Clean, modern, bright public spaces * Clean, spacious, modern room, bright, well furnished * Clean modern bathroom, good shower * Excellent bedding, firm but comfortable mattresses * Breakfast is served with Covid measures in mind MINUS: * Not a single complaint

  WORST HAMPTON WE HAVE EVER VISITED

  Because we needed to be in Corbin during an anticipated snow/ice storm, before we made a two-night reservation, we asked if they had a back-up generator, which they said "yes." They do not! On our second night, the electricity went out in the hotel and the whole area. At no time did anyone ask if we needed extra blankets, flashlights, etc. When I inquired about getting out of their driveway because of the intense ice, we were told that they had done nothing to treat the ice on the hill leaving the parking lot. The manager was indifferent on each occasion, to say the least. As senior citizens we would have appreciated some assistance in loading our six suitcases into our car when we checked out. The lobby was filled with idle employees and they had their cars under the porte cochere so that we could not park under it to load are car - and no one offered to help us carry our six suitcases to our car, which we were forced to park on a solid sheet of ice. On the previous morning I went to see what was offered for their modified breakfast but I declined any because the attendant appeared unclean as did his clothes. And they charged us full price for both nights, with no apology. Very disappointing. Not only was it the worst Hampton we have visited - it has been our only bad experience at a Hampton.
