    Cant beat it for the price, clean, excellent staff

    We use this as a stopping point between Hilton head Island South Carolina and Vicksburg Mississippi where we were going for my nephews wedding. we stayed here previously for my other nephews graduation from Fort Benning. Without exception, the staff is welcoming and friendly! We even saw the same black and white kitty cat (cookies and cream) that the staff takes care of in the front parking area. A particularly big shout out to front desk gal, Keemie Who happened to be coming on duty and noticed that one of my windows was down as it started to pour down rain. She called our room immediately, so I was able to run down to prevent further moisture. Going back up to the room I noticed the elevators were a little bit smudged and dirty, so I mentioned it to her. half an hour later I went down to get some ice, and there she was, wiping down both elevators!

    Not Up to Hilton Brand Standards

    Arrived at the hotel around 10pm and had already checked in online. The front desk person was pleasant and told us about breakfast and where elevators were located. We arrived at the room ,and it was missing the Hilton clean seal, so I called downstairs and they assured me the room was clean but could move me to a different room, but only had one with double beds (I had booked a king), so I stayed where I was. This room desperately needs updating. The tv was an old lcd that was small. There was mold in the shower and hair in the drain. The microwave did not work for me either. Also, missing was the digital keys that Hilton has available to members. I would not recommend staying here, and we only chose this hotel because other reviews said it was clean. Highly disappointed...

    Excellent service, clean room, comfortable bed

    Nov 6-8-2020 We enjoyed our stay at the Hampton. The staff are very nice and helpful. There were 4 towels in the room and they offered us extra towels at check in. The room was clean, the king size bed was very nice and comfy. We didn't eat breakfast only because we slept in, but the coffee was good. We had no issues with anything not working in our room. The hotel is very nice. I would stay again and I would recommend this hotel to others.

    Handicapped Accessible Room 318 Not ADA Standards

    Last year we stayed in a ground floor mobility handicapped accessible room which is great. This year there was some confusion and we were give a third floor mobility accessible room and it was very disappointing. The primary problem was the toilet was lower than aa ADA toilet which gave me great problems in a very important function. The entrance door was nice in that it had to threshold but there is a small granit threshold into the bathroom which gives some of us a difficulty. This was a two queen bed room but there is not enough room for a regular manual or power wheechair to get between the wall and the first bed or between the two beds but could access the far side of the second bed. I use a transport chair which does not have the two large side wheels so I could manage but it was tough and my husband had to use just one side of the second bed. The mirror iis lower that I could see Most of my fce from the wheelchair but I am a tall woman. The cunter was not lowered so with arm involvement I had difficulty using the sink and electrical outlets. If I had been by myself it would not have worked at all. I was so tired and we left early the next morning to see what Santa had brought our grandchildren so I did not use the shower and paid little attention to it. Why don't these hotels have their handicapped rooms evaluated by a panel of different disabilities???????? We have used Hampton Inn mobilty accessible room in 40 sttes and this is the worst one we have found. I recommend the first floor rooms but avoid 318!

    Great staff, but the facilities need work.

    I stayed at the Hampton Inn Columbus-North recently for just one night. The staff are easily this hotel's best asset. Everyone we encountered was super helpful an nice, and they did everything they could to enhance our stay. However, the facilities need some fundamental updates. You can tell that corporate has come in during the last 3-4 years to make sure everything is "on brand," but some basics need a lot of work. For instance, our door had trouble properly shutting when leaving the room. We had to manually turn the hand and pull it shut, where it was clearly designed to automatically shut and lock. Also, the phone in our room did not work, and we did check to make sure all the connections were tight. This made it difficult because when we had issues with the rowdy room across the hall, we had to go down to the front desk to explain the situation, where a simple phone call would have sufficed. The staff did, however, address the noise level and eventually the "party" died down. There were some other noticeably dated elements to the room. The sconces in the bathroom felt out of place, and you can tell the curtains are really old. None of that detracted, but it wasn't to the standard of many Hampton Inns I have stayed at. The bed was adequate, although firmer than my preferred taste, and the room was clean (except the tub looked quite streaky). I'm not sure I would return to this hotel in the future.
