    Showing its age, but kind

    I have stayed in this hotel every other month since June 2019. Covid has thrown everything off including plans to remodel. I cant say that I care for their virus plan...I chased towels every two days and had to request what I wanted or needed...soap, toilet paper and the like. Conversely, I enjoyed not worrying what time someone would be in to make up the room which meant that I could take a nap in the middle of the afternoon. What this hotel lacks due to cutbacks, makes up for it in a kind and caring staff. This time Donalveon checked me in. He is the kindest, nicest young man. He was always there for me to answer a question or get a clean towel. I was there for the funeral of my mother, who had died a ghastly death alone due to Covid restrictions. She did not have Covid, but Covid caused her death, alone, not having anyone hug her since March. The last night we were there, my stepsister told Donalveon we were checking out and why we had been there. And hour later, he arrived at the door with flowers, a card and a large KitKat bar. They were from Donalveon and Amanda, two very kind hotel representatives. My heart melted. This place feels like family after being here so much and now it looks like I will be adopting the whole crew. What hotel has such caring employees? Compassion is more important than the room I have. Logan is also an employee who always welcomes me back. This hotel is in a great location, especially to The Oaks and The Glen, the two places that my parents have lived as they aged. I love having the many choices on Youree for meals. Its also in a great location for the hospital, Piedmont. My father was rushed there two days before my mothers funeral. At least he was allowed to have a visitor and I was SO close! I highly recommend this property. In all my visits, any problem has been worked out to my satisfaction and there have been few. Everyone I have met has been kind and helpful. Ive included a picture of the flowers I received. I did eat that KitKat, so it is gone. I hadnt eaten in days and didnt think I was hungry. Apparently I was!

    Disappointed

    Our family stayed in this hotel in December 2019 and I gave it a 5 rating. There was no question that would be staying at this facility again when we returned to visit family. This visit, which ended up being 10 days, September 28-Oct 7 was a complete failure. The 2 rating is given because it is still the perfect location if you need a place in southern Shreveport close to family or the hospital and to be in a relatively safe area. I tried to associate the drastic turn due to Covid restrictions but this was not it. The hotel was very dirty this time and stayed that way the whole visit. You would think it would be cleaner. The lobby/elevator floor were cleaned once during the stay. It seemed someone was always spilling coffee and it would stay there for days. There was never anyone at the front desk. Waiting for someone would take 5-6 mins every time. Minor requests like needing an ice bucket in the room took 3 days. Even with the cleaning notice change due to Covid, they never changed towels or took garbage unless asked. They put seals on the doors saying it was "cleaned." One day they sealed me up in the room. They didn't even knock but put a seal on the door. When I came out and broke the seal, I asked why it was sealed. The cleaning people, right outside the door, said it shows it was cleaned. I replied you didn't come in, I was in here and I was sealed in. I even asked at one point if I could borrow the vacuum cleaner to vacuum my own room. The staff was rude and acted like it was a complete bother that you needed to ask a question. I ate the free breakfast once because it was just not a good situation. The coin operated laundry could not be used because the hotel did not have change and the only way to operate the machines were by coins. I understand the coin shortage currently but there needs to be another way to operate the machines even if it is by credit card or room key. Many of the guests are there because of the hospital and stay several days and need to be able to do the laundry. I know it is confusing why I continued to extend my stay under these conditions but the location to where I needed to be could not be beat and again, it was a safe area when most of Shreveport is simply not safe. If a general manager was on site during this time, Hampton needs to take swift action.

    Overpriced and overrated

    I stay at Hamptons all the time and this is by far the worst and most expensive for value received!. The carpet is filthy with stains on it and the wore out couch was just as bad. The ottoman was worn out beyond belief!, I could not believe the condition plus the price was ridiculous.

    A Welcome Sight After Six Hours Driving in the Rain

    Driving from Ft. Worth to Shreveport and Hampton In & Suites had a room available at a reasonable price. I have been traveling since September and have stayed at a lot of hotels and motels. The Hampton Inn and Suites have not disappointed me and neither did this one. Easy check-in with a friendly staff that recommended local restaurants. A comfortable, quiet room. And a HOT breakfast, eat in or to go (this has been a signature of all the Hampton Inn and Suites I have stayed at.) They are my go-to hotels!

    The Most Disgusting Place I've Ever Laid My Head

    "Clean" sticker on the door you know, "no covid in here." But there WAS the previous occupant's used bar of soap, 4 different people's hairs all over the bathroom, some liquid spilled recently and still sticky on the bathroom floor, the carpets hadn't been vacuumed in a long time, there was a sticky goo all over the headboard and nightstand and wall and literally boogers on the nightstand and wall. We got in late our 2 year old had a surgery early in the morning so we did not call to change rooms, we slept in a pile toward the foot of the bed for the 5 or 6 hours of our stay. I wanted to vomit. I want a refund. Also I'll indicate below they have masking and distancing signage but not one employee I witnessed had a mask on. In a hotel across from the hospital where likely many patients are staying. ... that they don't clean. STAY AWAY!
