  Place to stay

  We booked this hotel online so we were not sure of anything just that it was close to Hamilton Wharf. It is a short walk to the wharf so that is great however the footpath on the way is not great in places. Recommend a taxi. This hotel is good for people with a disability with lifts and very clean, a pub next door and lots of food outlets close by. The rooms are big and the bath is a shower which is great for disability persons who have some mobility. Perhaps not great for wheelchair bound guests as the door opens inward and the shower is right behind. Some road noise but on the whole good value for money.

  A beverage before lunch

  Friends and I went to lunch here. I think they call it a bistro here. A bar and restaurant seating. You order from a kiosk and a server brings your meal. Lots to choose from and with senior prices. My cousin said it was the best lunch rump he has had at one of these places. I hope whoever tries it - enjoys it.

  Good Value and centrally located

  Stayed here with a group . Rooms are clean and nice and reasonably sized . No shortage of hot water .Property is well located to eateries , pubs ,cafes and river cat and ferry services and the race tracks. Very good value if you are looking for an inexpensive and clean and well located motel.

  3 stars - you pay for what you get.

  On the upside, rooms are very clean. Downsides? The mattresses have seen better days - and those days were quite some time ago. The grey decor is not recommended for people grappling with depression. And if you are allocated a room near Kingsford Smith Drive, abandon any idea of sleeping on after 4..45 am (Qld time). Check in harks back to the time before the advent of the computer - actually, before the advent of the slide rule. Dont be in a hurry - or lose your room key. They will bill your card $150 to replace the sort of key you can have cut for $7 at Bunnings. That said, staff are pleasant enough. At around $90 per night, you pretty well get what you pay for. Certainly no more.

  Cheap and Convenient

  I have stayed here a number of times now; it suits if you have an early flight or are just on a flying visit to Brisbane. Rooms are clean, everything works though dated (70s/80s). Parking available which is rare this close to town. The views from the rooms are amazing and soon to be really good as construction on the road/riverfront comes to completion. Having the Hamilton Hotel next door is a bonus, great meals and a cold beer handy.
