  Close to Hamilton CBD, Welcoming and Comfortable

  Just outside the Hamilton CBD area on the Ballarat Road is the Best Western Hamilton Lakeside Motel. Driving out of Hamilton it is on the right hand side just opposite the Sir Reginald Ansett Transport Museum. To access the driveway, it is essential to do a U-turn at the first island break on the Ballarat Road. Reception is at the front of the building with the driveway to the rooms immediately to the right between the rooms and the fence. Car parking is at the back in non-designated spots some of which are undercover. After checking in with either Lynn or John at reception, it is down to find a park and explore the designated room. Rooms 1 -6 back onto the driveway with room 7 11 along the back fence. The rooms form an L shape around a lawned area with a BBQ and tables and chairs set out for travellers use. Outside several rooms are benches for seating. As we had booked a short time prior to arrival, the room we had was suitable for 5 with a queen in the main room and 3 singles in a separate room to the back. There was a kitchenette with microwave and a bench cooktop. Utensils and equipment stored in cabinets and drawers in the kitchen area. There was a pod coffee machine with pods available in the minibar stock. The shower over the bath was in a bathroom off the second bedroom and was clean and well laid out. Hot water was constant although took a short time to come through. Wifi was a good strength and also constant. There plenty of power points available although if using laptop on the dining table as a desk, a short electrical extension will be needed. Power points were also available close to the bedside tables for those requiring power for medical equipment. The bed was comfortable although I had issues with the height of the pillows and had to use two. Extra pillows were available in the wardrobe just inside the entrance door. The property also has a guest laundry available. Even though located on the main Ballarat Road, the room was very quiet. Return? Would certainly be an option when returning to Hamilton due to location, quietness and friendliness of owners.

  Tidy,Relaxing and peaceful

  Nice relaxing place and the owners where beautiful and helpful took time to talk and make you feel comfortable. Room was tidy and well presented, with everything I needed and also spacious, had room to move.

  Perfectly situated just out of the CBD. Peaceful and quote and obviously managed by the owners as reception was very competent and swift.. The room had been pre heated expecting my arrival and the bed and room were very clean and functional

  Excellent

  Could not fault this motel, owners provided an incredible service and were both friendly and approachable. Great value room, comfortable bed, hot shower, and most importantly it was clean, highly recommend this motel if staying in Hamilton.

  A great place to stay in Hamilton

  I stayed here as a solo traveler and can highly recommend it. My room was very clean and nicely decorated with a super-comfortable bed and lots of little touches to make travelers feel at home. The little jug of fresh milk for tea & coffee was a welcome treat. My room had an accessible bathroom suitable for the disabled (with a flat shower floor) so it felt spacious and safe. The owner, Lyn, told me that some guests are quite insulted when they are given one of the rooms with an accessible bathroom which I thought was quite sad as any of us could become disabled and need such a facility. Lyn and her husband John are super-friendly and very suited to working in hospitality. They can offer you lots of tips on where to eat and what to see in Hamilton and its surrounds. Overall, Hamilton Lakeside is great value for money in a quiet setting yet very close to all the action in town.
