  Fabulous stay

  We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We had dinner, bed and breakfast. We couldn't fault them. Lovely staff, amazing food and great wine. They have done a great job of making everything feel Covid Safe. Felt very relaxed. There are lovely gardens to walk round. We also used it as a base to walk the circular path round the Rutland Water peninsula. Highly recommend staying and eating here.

  What a sublime treat!

  We took a belated birthday treat to Hambleton Hall. We had the most amazing afternoon and overnight stay. It was fabulous. It is very expensive but that was our decision to make. Each menu for dinner is personalised which is a such lovely touch and a great keepsake. The lady who wed been chatting to earlier in the day had clearly had a hand in personalising ours. It was hilarious - we LOVED it!!!! Thank you The dinner was absolutely outstanding. Hambleton Hall is such a dreamy place. Oh how soon can I return?

  Outstanding throughout

  A very big thank you to everyone at Hambleton Hall for the wonderful service during our stay to celebrate our ruby anniversary. The meals were simply sublime, service fantastic throughout and our rooms a delight to stay in. Everyone from reception, housekeeping, restaurant, bar and grounds should be really proud of the exceptional standard you achieve. We will think of you during the coming lockdown and we wish you a safe return to normal as soon as possible,

  5* Food, 2* Service

  As always, the food was exquisite. Absolutely nothing to critique at all. Understanding it was during COVID, as a party we always asked a member of staff permission to do something, e.g. use the restrooms. The frustrating part - after a game of croquet in one of the side gardens (which we asked to do) whilst enjoying some end of the afternoon drinks (which we also asked if we could do outside) we essentially were rather abruptly/rudely asked to settle up and leave right there and then as a result of overstaying our welcome. There is no mention of a maximum stay allowance on the reservation confirmation booking email, and I called to confirmed the booking in the weeks build up to a) confirm the booking and b) ask if anything else required of us. The side reason was that there was a Michelin star spot visit and that they would be over the permissible COVID numbers - unsure if this was true... With the price tag of the place, I dont think that this was reasonable. Poor communication and poor customer service. Although we didnt let the above ruin our day, it did leave a slight sour taste in our mouths (especially my Fathers!) Made average by the poor service, after two previous visits where I would have given it 10/10 every time.

  A large piece of heaven...

  Surrounded by woodland and lake, on the edge of a tiny remote village, this is an oasis of tranquility with views to match. One is cared for but never intruded upon, the staff are brilliant, the food magnificent, the rooms large and comfortable. And in the winter, the log fires are simply magical. Expensive but worth every penny.
