  In need if TLC

  Firstly I need to praise the staff who were excellent professional friendly and get helpful. The location is pretty good in the centre of town and near ski bus stops. On the down side the whole place looks tired and in need of a returb. The bedrooms are big but have worn carpets, torn wall paper and just old looking, the bathroom has obviously been added later a plastic cubicle with a foot high step to get in to the tiny space. There is virtually no clothes storage or hanging space so it's by hard to keep tidy. The breakfast was a repetive joke. Bacon or sausage scrambled or poached egg, beans or some kind of veg. Pity because the restaurant food was very good in the evening. So much potential! I have read in previous postings about plans to completely renovate the place - if true this would be a 5 star post in the future.

  Hotel Perfect for a Family Snow Holiday

  This old hotel was perfectly located in Hakuba for our family snow skiing and snowboarding holiday! Conveniently located across the street from snow rental equipment shop, and many restaurants close by. Hotel is dated, however was very clean and service from staff was friendly, extremely attentive and helpful. Buffet breakfast was basic but adequate. I gave this 4 stars because the bathroom was too small and the hotel requires a revamp. Other than that it was perfect in every other way and I would definitely consider rebooking if my family and I return to Hakuba. Onsen a definite positive!

  Ski, snow and sun

  Well, where shall we start. From the pick-up to drop-off we enjoyed Evert moment of our stay. The welcoming was as to meet with friends, and it just continued for the whole stay. Always time for a chat, a laugh or a good advise. An exemple is when Wictoria drovevus around the village in the evening trying to find an open Italian restaurant, thats service far beyond the expected. Thanks to all of you for making our stay in Happos closing week something extra. /405

  Great family hotel

  It's so great to be at a place that everyone knows, very helpful reception staff, wonderful to have an Onsen in the Hotel. Super nice breakfast with fresh cooked eggs with good spread for everyone. It's great to be walking distance from everywhere with full hotel facilities and a good restaurant (sharaku) and fun bar (Jack's) in the same building. Its the the place to stay with a family.

  Amazing staff, dated and dirty.

  The hotel staff are lovely, we had great service from the gentleman when we were not happy with our room, he tried everything he could to make us happy. The facilities are good, however the place is very dated. The carpets had stains over it and looked dirty, we were advised they had been steam cleaned. The Onsen is nice however looks old and water is never running. The bathrooms very small, dated and no bidet. To say the least we were disappointed when turning up after being advised in many reviews that a renovation was going to occur, and it did not. After previous visit to another hotel, we were very disappointed with the quality of the place in regard to how much was paid. All this aside, the staff are lovely, the restraunt has amazing sashimi, breakfast was good but more staff cooking eggs would be helpful in order to not wait for your eggs and bacon for a while. Jack's bar is great with fun and exciting themed nights.
