    Needs help

I stayed here only one night and I only stayed here because the other place I was staying in was fully booked on our last night. We booked a non-smoking room and the room we got smelt so badly of smoke I had a lot of trouble sleeping. Everything down to the doona smelt badly. The room is not that clean and we could not work out how to turn on the heating. We looked at the old radiator which looked more like a side table since there were things sitting on it and rubbish that had fallen into it. After freezing to death half the night we finally worked out the heating system on the reverse cycle air-con. I wish there had been some instructions or something since my boyfriend does read and speak both Japanese and English. The owner has a friend that stays with them during the busy period. He speaks Chinese, Japanese and English, however, regardless of which language he is speaking in his tone is just rude (as we also speak all of these languages). I believe he is suppose to act as a translator for foreign guest, however, I do not believe he is helping their business. The owner is a lovely old man and we would have much preferred to interact with him. His son who runs the shuttle service for guest between the hotel and bus station/train station was also lovely. We did try the Dinner here as well and it was alright. There was horse meat as part of the dinner, which kind of put me off my meal. My boyfriend gave it a try but I would have much preferred to have been asked if I wanted it in the first place as it is a delicacy which not all people, especially foreigners are use to. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place and would not stay again unless a few things changed. It is in need of an update and clean, and their friend needs to be much more polite.

Very nice Hotel and nice Owner.

This is first time to go to Hakuba with my wife. We've not ever been to Japan before. We really had nice time to stay this Hotel. The Owner always take care of us and he give us ride to popular place. And we also had good Japanese traditional dinner. It was good. 1,Room Room is not so big not too small. Price is cheap. we are Sutisefied. points 2,Food Food is very good. We had good time. I'd like to suggest translation of the food menu. 3, Price Its good price when you consider this place's service. Not too expensive, Not too cheap. Staying overnight without meals costs is cheap. We choose with meal. But they should have English price lists. 4, Staff service. The Owner is very nice man. He always take care of customer. He give us Hakuba's traditional food a lot . Its his service. we did not pay about it. We drink together with him. His English is not so well. But the other staff can speak English very well. I strongly recommend his service. Accommodations Its enough When you sleep, have rest. There is big 3 Hot-spring near this hotel. Its very nice and useful. 3 I strongly recommend this place when you consider to pay under US$90. Owner,Thank you very much. We really had good time to staying Hakuba. My wife also would like to tell you thank you. We would like to visit your hotel and drink together again.

    This...

This pension is far from Hakuba station, but it is not so far from Hakuba bus terminal. The exterior was okay but, the room was not so cleaned so it was uncomfortable. Even, the FUTON seemed unhygienic. The meals were plenty of volume, but dietary balance was bad. My friend even bought her dinner at a nearby convenience store However, there are some BBQ equipment, so you can enjoy a BBQ. I don't recommend to people who are fussy about cleanliness. BBQBBQ

    Cosy and affordable

The hotel is pretty well located, close to a station, near a convenience store and It is near the Happo-one slopes. The budget room is basic but for the price in peak season it is a lot cheaper than anything else. The room has good beds and heating and there is a bath house in the hotel.
