  The # ONE Hotel in Ma'anshan - a 5 Star Hotel -

  For me, this hotel is the number 1 hotel in Ma'anshan City in the Anhui Province. I had the opportunity to stay there for two nights. Excellent hotel, with super service! Was on the 21st floor with view on to the lakes! Just great! The excellent breakfast is served on the 27th floor in a rotating / revolving restaurant from where you have a 360 degree view of the city. Will go back to this hotel when in town!!.

  Excellent Hotel

  We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were modern, comfortable and spacious. The buffet breakfast in the revolving restaurant were an abundant mix of Chinese and Western foods. The park around the lake in the city is across the street and shops and a shopping mall are just a short walk away. We didn't try the spa, pool or exercise room.

  New name: Haiwaihai Crown Hotel but service not anymore on a Crowne Plaza level

  New name of the hotel: Haiwaihai Crown Hotel. Service not anymore on a standard Crowne Plaza level. All previous Crowne Plaza markings have been taken away and replaced with the new name however from the appearance, the current owner tries to be still very close to Crowne Plaza. I had an insect in the room which tells a little bit about the cleanliness. Shower room and bed room require urgent renovation and / or maintenance - all in all, at most a three star hotel ...

  Great hotel with certain weaknesses

  I had stayed several times before at the Haiwaihai Crowne Hotel, as it calls itself. The location is still great and you still get a nice, clean and comfortable room for a very decent price. Reception is helpful. BUT: Food and beverages has deteriorated. Don't eat there if you don't get a private room for lunch or dinner. Even as hotel guests we didn't get one. You will be seated at a huge round table in the corner of a huge cold ball room with lousy service. Breakfast has become very bad too: hard to find a clean table, no latte or cappucino, no decent juice. Mini bar is truly mini, with total of four cans in the fridge it and may not be replenished unless you explicitly ask. There is cappucino in the lobby bar, but it is cold by the time you get it.

  Still (almost) the same excellent 5 star hotel in Ma'anshan -

  I have been in Ma'anshan exactly three years ago. I decided to stay at the same hotel again as in March 2016. After the stay, I can confirm ... it's still (almost) the same high level, 5 star hotel, as in the past. Very often, the quality and service is going down fast over the years. This is NOT the case with this hotel, BUT some minor details need attention! Make sure you keep it up and you will continue to be successful. You will certainly see me again when back in Ma'anshan!
