  Disappointing stay in Haikou

  Haikou was my last stop after my pleasant time spent in Sanya. I booked this hotel via Booking.Com as it gave a pretty good review and the location is near Haikou East Station. But the experience that I had was probably one of the worst in my travelling experience. I must say the hotel location is good - within 250 metre walk from Haikou East High Speed Rail Station and near to City Centre. Upon checking in, the reception staff did not understand English when I passed her the confirmation letter of my booking. She claimed that the hotel did not receive my booking. I was shocked but luckily the sales manager reassured me that the booking was confirmed. We were given 2 rooms and upon opening the rooms, we were horrified that one of the rooms was not cleaned!! I went back to the reception and demanded for a change of both rooms. Luckily this time, she managed to give me two clean non-smoking rooms. The hotel was one of the newer hotels in Haikou but I must say their service standard, cleanliness (cigarette butts in lift, rundown restaurants) and food quality was undesirable...... Other things which I was very disturbed were 1. guests are only allowed 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water each day.. You can't ask for more. 2. Staff at the reception are rude to guests. When my wife asked for more information over the phone, they spoke in a rude manner and commented that we are very troublesome! 3. Blood stain on the bed- sheet and the WIFI bandwidth was weak. It may worked well in the morning and suddenly cut off. 4. Breakfast is BAD. The spread was limited the the food was not appetitizing. We stayed in Deluxe Business Twin which was modern and comfortable. That's my only compliment for this hotel and of course, the approachable sales managers who offered me good advice on the shopping areas in Haikou and called for a cab to come in the lobby when we departed. Overall, I would give this hotel a miss and look for a better hotel in Haikou!

  Good hotel

  The hotel located near East Railway Station, about 5 minutes walking distance. Modern design, good staff. One of the front desk staff could speak English. It is also a best place for Muslim visitors, Haikou City Mosque and halal restaurants located just next door.

  Reasonable Price, Not Bad

  Like the title, reasonable price/Qlt. This can be recommended to the people who needed to get lodge near to the Haikou east station with relatively low budget. Actually, first room assigned to me was not comfortable cause of heavy stink of tobacco. But anyway relatively kind staff changed to other room instantly with my complain. Morning meal was Chinese style porridge and so on. Do not expect high quality about that. I recommend to buy some bread near the residence.

  Good place!

  Stayed just one night as a transit hotel, but very nice room. Comfortable bed, a nice desk and chair for work, wifi is also good, both the room and the bathroom have nice space, so you get around fine. There is a shampoo and body soap, tooth brush set, shower cap, for free and option to buy other things in the bathroom. Complementary spring water, and a small fridge with beverages. Last, but not the least, air conditioning system is also very nice.
