Corporate but well runUgly high rise building overlooking Hagi - fortunately, the service inside, the meals and the variety of hot baths (onset) are great. The hotel caters for bus tours, so expect to see large numbers of people. The main hot pool around 530pm had about 50 people in it. The kaiseiki style dinners are particularly good, and there are plenty of courses. You won't go hungry. They have a fab buffet breakfast which caters for Western tastes as well as Japanese. All in all, hard to beat. Very good value for money. Wifi only in the lobby though,so rent your own portable wifi unit.

My favorite onsen hotelStanding on top of a little hill overlooking Hagi town this hotel is perfectly located to visit Shoin jinja. Their hot spring is made up with a series of small baths in various design and you can experience a little tour of onsen. Their eat as much as you can lunch is good but weekend only.

Huge OnsenThis is a large hotel located on a hill slope to the back of Higasgihagi Stn. Its on the Hagi loop bus circuit which stops also stops at HigashiHagi Stn and the Seafood Market. We had a very good lunch at the market and the market also sells a very good range of yuzu products. We were checked into a western style bedroom but it was small and rather claustrophobic facing the hill slope on the back. So we upgraded to a large n comfortable tatami style room on the 8th facing the city n sea. This room offered a great view at sunset. The baths are huge some 1,000m2 with a large indoor baths, sauna:steam room and a variety of outdoor baths to choose from. Water was hot with ph 7.2. Dinner and breakfast were so-so.

Excellent onsens and Good service. We stayed at the hotel for one night and our room is Japanese room on the 7th floor. It is clean and has a good view of the city area. The parking lot is big. The Japanese breakfast and dinner were fine. We enjoyed most were the various types of onsens!

Bad tasteSecond night in hagi, and we moved from hagi 1 rin to hagihonjin. Facility is better. Staff well trained. you can taste the bad management. Ice cubes, you have to pay. A ride to the top of the hill, you have to pay. As you walk out of the hot bath area, they dont give you water but they are rubbing their hands with a display of cold drinks. When we booked, we had had enough of blowfish, but, no option to change the menu. No option for room only, bit no option to change menu. Ditto for brekki. The worst was the noise we suffered from upstairs. Insulation wad obviously poor, and there was a family with small kids above us. so noisy and we rang the reception to complain, but the noise continued until midnight. This is a very quiet time, majority of the rooms are empty, why would you put a family with small kids above anyone. Shows how bad the Management is.
