  Beautiful ryokan and amazing Japanese service

  You really get the best of everything at this Ryokan. I stayed here about four years ago, in 2009, but completely forgot to write a review. I'm here now to make good on my promise to thoroughly recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Toi. The hotel is in wonderful condition, and everything looks as immaculate as the pictures suggest. And the staff went out of their way to welcome us 'gaikokujin'. I got the impression that they didn't get many foreigners staying there, but were so welcoming and friendly. The hot springs were so relaxing and the food was out of this world. I can still remember how good it was even four years later!!

  So Very Perfect

  This place was booked at the last minute after much deliberation of where to stay in between Toi, Shuzenji or Izu City - and what a great decision it was. We went during Sakura, so this quiet port town was really quite beautiful with posies everywhere you walk! We didn't find much to do in Toi, but this was good as it allowed us to stay and enjoy our enormous sunset, sea view room (seriously, you could get lost in room it was so big). The private onsen that can be booked was just perfect, open air, facing the woods and spacious balcony for resting in between dips. While we were there, a film crew came to visit in the public baths so gives an idea of just how beautiful this place is. Though older, the property is well maintained and the staff could not have been more welcoming to us as foreigners, even though it seems they rarely have foreigners stay. Dinner & breakfast is served in your room and the staff very accommodating to your times. One of the best Ryokans we stayed in while in Izu, the food was delightful too, definitely recommend anyone looking for a relaxing day to spend it here :) Thanks to everyone for a great stay!
