The finest Tyrolean style hospitalityStayed in Gundolf hotel with a group of friends on extended weekend for skiing on Pitztal glacier. One word that sublime all experience is :"wonderful ". From hospitality of stuff (special and big thank you to Sabrina!) to exquisite food and 5 course dinner which was different all four days that we stayed in. Perfect position (ski bus stop in front of hotel), free ski shuttle to valley station, spotlessly clean rooms, big spa area with variety of offers, etc, etc. I can not only understand why Gundolf is only 3 superior according to hotel classification. It should be at least 4 superior. Very heartily recommended if you want to ski in Pitztal area or come just for holiday.

Good oneThe hotel is very nice and is very well situated. It was clean, comfortable and staff was really gentle and polite. Unfortunately we had an apartment with transparent toilet, so it was very unpleasant to do pee pee almost in front of the others.. Food was ..how to say..interesting (?)..We have never eaten anything like that and most of our crew didn't like it.. Even so we can recommend this hotel.

Wonderful winter HotelThis hotel is absolutely marvelous! The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff are so helpful and very kind. The breakfastbuffet has everything you could wish for. The 6 course dinner is so well prepared and tasty and served in a "gourmet-style". And we loved the "Jausen" in the afternoon.

Well set up for skiersWe stayed for a long weekend right at the end of the ski season. The hotel is very nice, and as many others have said, the food is very good. What is really fantastic though is the location. Although everyone was professional, it was clear that they were really looking forward to a break after the long winter months. My partner had tried ringing to book three times without success and so we booked online. We were given a spacious family room (32) on the 3rd floor (up several staircases). The room was clean and nicely appointed, with a fabulous view of the mountain, and a lovely little balcony. Another big plus for skiers is that the hotel has its own shuttle to the slopes and this leaves right outside hotel. There's a very nice sauna area but be careful... the floor is slippery (we saw someone slip over and hit her head). Bring a robe and slippers with you, as these aren't supplied (although they do give you a nice sauna bag and towels. Also a backpack on loan for hiking and an umbrella in case you need it). One downside for us at least is that we found everything to be too early for us: at dinner before 19.30 at the latest, and the wellness area was only open until 19.00. There was a large team of waitresses and waiters, some very good. One took our breakfast away before we'd finished as they were so keen to pack up on the final day! All in all, we enjoyed our stay and ate well. Excellent value at 312 euros for 2 for 2 days.

Great place, convenient, clean and all you need for snowWe went ( myself and 8 year old daughter) and stayed here to ski/board on the Pitztal Glacier . It is located 3.5 hours by road from Munich airport. If you go by arranged transport look around ... you could get a van for 5 ( seating comfortably) with gear for 250 Euro each way ( pick up and return). The hotel is located directly opposite ( + or - 10 meters!) from a free bus which takes you to the Funicular base station. It runs like clockwork with the timings posted on reception. It takes about 5 minutes to reach the base station and the funicular runs every 30 minutes or so on an 8 minute journey through the mountain to the top station. We got the 8:43 bus in the morning and the funicular up the mountain at 0905... we were putting or skis on at 0920. The rooms are spacious and clean... we had a twin room for me and my daughter and it was fine regarding space. There was plenty of wardrobe and hanging space for clothes and snow gear. In the bathroom there was a hanging heated rail system to hang snow gloves etc to dry out. There was no bath but a shower with ample hot water. The room itself ( and the hotel) had free WiFi which was fast enough to stream at night and to send email etc for remote work access. There was a TV installed but we did not switch it on the entire 8 days! There is sufficient towels and bath amenities available during your stay for you not to bring if you do not want to ( not sure if they have toothbrush or paste on request as we had our own). We were half board which included breakfast from 7:30 am , afternoon snack at 3pm and evening meal from 6:30 pm. The food was great and evening meal was based on a choice selection u made for main course at breakfast. The afternoon snack and selection was offer a meal in itself! There was secure access ski and boot storage area which had a boot warmer to help dry them out. If you stay here bring a swim suit and sauna stuff as they have one available. The hotel staff were friendly, personal and helpful. In summary , if I was to return to this area to snowboard again I would stay in Gundolf again without any reservation at all.
