    Gulf Tides Longboat Key

Had a great time at Gulf Tides. Beach was fantastic and lounge chairs to be used. A great heated pool as it was cooler this trip to Florida. Many little extras made this feel so much like home. Want to go right back!.As I have mentioned before with comments of places I visit, I am a swimmer and avid suntan person. I once again found a nice place where I ran into no problems wearing a "thong" style swimsuit (my preferred attire) in the lovely heated pool or on the beach and gulf waters of Longboat Key.

    Ok, but expected more

We spent a week in unit 110 which is on the bay side. The unit sits several hundred feet off Gulf of Mexico Drive. Nonetheless we experienced significant road noise at all times of the day and night. We were also disappointed at how hard the bed was in the master bedroom. Also surprised to find a missing light bulb in the guest bathroom vanity as well as black mold on the tile in the guest bedroom shower. Lastly disappointed in the couch in living room. It was very worn and had a foul smell that suggested people with wet bathing suits had sat on the cloth coverings and they had soured over time. Also we felt the rattan dining set was very dated. Overall we thought the resort felt tired and definitely was not up to Long Boat standards. In light of the above it would be hard to recommend the resort. Additonally we would not return unless/until significant upgrades are made.

Great location, nice facility & amenities

Longboat Key and Gulf Tides is a great location with the private beach, good restaurants on the key, easy bicycling, stores, warm swimming pool and everything you need to relax and enjoy some time away. Cleanliness and maintenance of the GT amenities gets a 4 out of 5.

    Peaceful week on the water

If youre looking for the perfect COVID getaway this is the place. Longboat Key isnt packed with tourists and many days we were alone on the beach and even taking a long walk on the beach wed only see a handful of people. With the grill and full kitchen you can stick your fridge from the nearby Publix so that you dont have to dine out. The room was very clean and having a washer/dryer in unit (104) was quite convenient. A couple things to note; the drinking water is poor IMO so make sure you stock-up on bottled water and utilize an ice try for your iced drinks, also the Murphy beds were not the most comfortable and after a few nights your back may begin to crave a firmer mattress.

We would love to come back someday.

We were very pleased with our accommodations at Gulf Tides. The unit had an efficient floor plan and was fully stocked with everything we needed. We appreciated the complementary beach chairs and the mid-week towel exchange. Lane the maintenance man was so friendly and helpful. While the traffic between the beach and the building housing our unit was very busy, the neighborhood was quiet and gave us a wonderful place to walk. There is a Publix and post office within walking distance. Very handy. We would love to come back someday.
