  Buen hotel, cómodo, muy preocupado por los detalles y muy orientado a lo ecológico, lamentablemente no tiene ascensor. Las piezas no son muy grandes y no es fácil ubicar las maletas, tienen un buen baño y la ducha muy buena. Las almohada no son muy bajas, por lo que tuve que improvisar una. El desayuno muy bueno y abundante. La ubicación es también buena. No tiene estacionamiento.

  First visit

  We traveled to Aarhus for the first time in June 2020 and we specifically looked for a cosy, small and special hotel to stay in. Hotel Guldsmeden is excellently located in the Latin quarter close to the pedestrian street, bars, pubs, restaurants. On top of that it prides with its organic products such bed sheets, towels and toiletries. They are indeed nice quality! The interior design is special and unique. However, two points were disappointing and would probably not bring us back next time: the bed and the ventilation/noise isolation. I have never slept in a worse bed/on a worse bed mattress than the one from this hotel. The bed was extremely soft and uneven. I felt like I was sleeping with my feet elevated and my head pointing down. Not to mention that is not extremely comfortable to get on/off if you are shorter than 1,65m.. its more of a jump :) Lastly, we were unlucky to be placed in a corner room, with windows pointing to two streets, one busier than the other.. already from 6:30 traffic started, including a very slow garbage truck that was stubbornly there for over 20min during our sweet morning sleep. No one wants that during vacation. Due to the high temperatures outside and inside, we had to have our windows open all night (or suffocate otherwise) so we heard EVERYTHING happening outside. Our advice would be to visit during the colder months where the ventilation would not be an issue.

  Best staff, nice breakfast but hotel in need of refurbishment.

  The staff at Aarhus Guldsmeden are the standout feature of this hotel. They are super attentive, friendly and helpful. We arrived early after an unpleasant journey to the hotel. They managed to check us in early so we could get some well needed rest, thanks to the front desk receptionist and house keeping for taking sympathy on us. Breakfast was nice, a basic but high quality Scandinavian fare. What really let the hotel down was the condition of the hotel. I see from the website that it opened 21 years ago and looks as though it has not undergone any refurbishment since it opened. The white walls, bathroom tiles and flooring look worn out and in urgent need of an update. This standard cannot be classified as luxurious. Staff get 5 stars, condition of hotel get 1 star. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again until they undergo an update.

  Old and worn hotel, definitely overpriced

  Old and shabby, seems not updated in this century. Uncomfortable and very soft bed, (when I pointed this out, reception said, oh yes we know, we are working on a solution! ), chairs not usable to sit in. The older, the more charming? No, does not work this way! To use safety box, you must be able to twist your body into a impossible position! Difficult to adjust hot and cold water in the shower! Individual taps for hot and cold water. Very limited heating. No lifts, very steep stairs. Rail no use as you would then have to use the inner part of the stairs, very narrow,.. when I asked about this, reception said, yes. we know, but owner does not want to use the money.. Never again!

  Very nice hotel with friendly staff

  We stayed a family of 4 in one room and had very nice stay. The hotel is located in an old building and was very charming. Friendly staff and a very nice organic breakfast and free coffee and tea all day.
