  Clean, comfy, & Soft Water

  For the price this place worked great for me! I was in town for an unplanned trip and was looking for a room in the early morning hours at a good rate. Based on other reviews I decided to try this Inn. I was surprised at the cleanliness of this old place. Room had all I needed including a cold AC & a ceiling fan - even had a microwave and little frog. My favorite surprise was the soft water. Ill stay here again.

  Tried to bate and switch on Reservation Price

  had a reservation for two nights due to family member's staying in nearby hospital. That is what this hotel is known for and we have stayed here many times. Upon checkin our room wasn't ready so we were put into another room. The fridge door was open and I wondered why. I soon found the buildup in the freezer from the unit not being defrosted in such a long time was preventing the door from shutting. Then I saw that our bath sink faucet appeared broken. Sure enough, the water was turned off. Called for maintenance and was told that that would be Monday before it could be repaired. The bathroom was just barely above dirty. In the corners of under the sink it obviously had not been cleaned in some time. We were tired from 4 days of being at the hospital so I said we would just put up with it since we had a bar sink. Got a call about noon on the second day that the price for that night would be more than 3 times what the previous night, from $62 to $180.00 for one night. We attempted to explain that we had a reservation and no mention was made of this price increase but we were told that the price was the price due to the check-in of families for Texas tech university that the demand was high. I understand that hotels are priced on demand, but for a sub-par room that was ridiculous. We have stayed her many times but the place looks tired and clearly the owners have a cash cow that they don't mind getting the milk from but don't bother to feed as often as they should.

  HORRIBLE

  The rate was tripled from what was quoted online, YES it was Tech move-in weekend. The lobby area was demolished and the paint smell was horrific, there was dust and "someone's gum on the lamp between the beds. It's old, smells old and was definately NOT worth the price.

  Totally unreasonable management

  I booked this hotel through one of the popular travel booking websites for December, 2018 - traveling to Lubbock to attend a graduation. A friend was to stay in the hotel with me, but we were traveling to Lubbock separately. Because I'm leaving after work and there's a chance of snow, the other guest would be arriving several hours before me, so I called the booking site to see if we could switch the reservation to the other guest's name (so he wouldn't have to wait in the lobby for hours). The travel site was willing to make the name change but called the hotel and was told no. They said that because I had originally booked it, I would need to be there to check in. This was true even though I instructed them to leave my card on file to secure the room (in other words, it would be charged in the event of a late cancellation or a no show). Still, they said absolutely not - they would not check in the other guest and let him pay unless I was present. Totally ridiculous.

  Good clean room for price paid.

  Older hotel, but very clean. Large room with comfy beds, quiet,. Breakfast adequate and well stocked. Owner and wife checked us in and were friendly and accomadating. Told us about great inexpensive Thai restaurant close by., called Thai Pepper. On check out manager on duty drew a map to show us how to get on right highway. Outside could use some attention, but overall a nice experience. Will definitely stay here again.
