  Excellent stay

  We had an loved our stay at Groote Eylandt Lodge from the moment Jon picked us up from the airport. Jon was very informative & shared his local knowledge. On arrival at the Lodge, and during our stay Gihan & all staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed in a bungalow (which I would recommend) it was spacious, very comfortable & clean, the bed was great & all the linen & towels were crisp & new. The view from our balcony was amazing! It was so beautiful overlooking the ocean & watching the sunset. We went on a fishing charter with Jon & had an awesome day! I can highly recommend fishing Groote. Our day was perfect & Jon was one of the best guides we have fished with. Not only was the fishing awesome but the area is just so beautiful & has such a unique landscape. We had a such a great time & felt very relaxed during our few days on Groote. Thank you to Gihan & all staff for making our stay so enjoyable, we will be back!

  great spot

  Friendly staff, beautiful position, stayed here for work and it was an excellent spot to spend the night after a day in the heat. Phone service was patchy but occasionally that can be a good thing. :)

  Wish we never left

  Gihan (the manager) was very accommodating and helpful, he picked us up from the airport, even showed us a bit around town before taking us back to the lodge. Checked us in quickly & took us to our room earlier than expected. Our room was wonderful, beautiful views & bed was super comfortable. Staff were attentive and friendly, right down to offering to make more cocktails while we lounged around the pool (thank you Jess!!). Gihan organised Dan to take us on a 4WD tour around Groote, we had such a great time - Dan was so knowledgable & showed us some interesting sites, lunch was good too. Thanks for all the wisdom Dan, we loved BCF. Restaurant meals were great, buffet for dinners due to limited staff etc (we understand) but we throughouly enjoyed everything we tried - though the thai pork belly was SO good. Buffet was well priced at $30 each. Make sure you eat on the observation deck to get the full experience, sunset is gorgeous. Sadly we left on the third day - it wasn't enough time there to enjoy everything so we will be back! Gihan dropped us back to the airport, we are so grateful for an awesome trip away. Thank you Gihan, Jess and Dan - you guys made our trip more special. Have a lovely & safe Christmas, we will back soon.

  great customer service

  We stayed at The Lodge whilst travelling for business. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the customer service was to a high standard. In particular was the excellent service provided by Victor - he was helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He went out of his way to ensure our stay went smoothly and his friendly smile and great coffee was a welcome sight. Thank you very much!!

  Paradise on an Eylandt

  Great spot if you really want to unwind. The island almost does it for you from the minute you land. Great people, culture and the landscape is amazing. Then you find yourself and Groote Eylandt and you suddenly realise how special this place really is. From the minute you become a guest of the lodge you are well and truly looked after by the team. It's one of those locations that will stay with you. Rooms are well designed and have all you could need including a view to leave you in awe. Delicious food and picture perfect dining location.
