Beautiful Historic B & B at the Jersey ShoreOn another sunny Sunday the Husband and I took a trip down to the lovely Jersey Shore for yet another delicious and fulfilling brunch buffet. With its rich pink color against the bright sky, The Grenville Hotel proudly stood out among the other Victorian houses along the main strip. We were quickly greeted and sat at a table of our choosing, close to the edge of the porch overlooking the front yard. Our server, Bailey, was absolutely wonderful and extremely friendly, as was everyone we encountered while dining here. Perhaps it's the crisp morning air and slight breeze or the scent of the ocean a block away that puts everyone in a great mood. I adored the sweet decor inside the old building, with white columns along one side of the dining room and old, creaky wooden floors. The buffet consisted of your usual breakfast breads, scrambled eggs, french toast/waffles/pancakes, sausage & bacon, potatoes, as well as cheeses, salads, a chicken dish, fish, veggies and your omelet station at the end. Oh and let's not forget a bunch of different dessert options with a chocolate fountain too! In keeping true to the Husband's gluten free preference, we even brought our own bread to toast. Considering the beautiful area, the price was perfect at $17.99 for adults ($14.99 for children). If anything, The Grenville is a charming piece of history and great place to stop in and grab a bite, whether on your way to the beach in the morning, going for a drive in the afternoon or simply just because. PS: Don't forget you can also book rooms for an overnight stay - just remember to BYOB!

Good foodNice small dining room. The restaurant is BYOB. My wife and I had the lump crab cake and fusilli a la vodka. Both dishes were very good. The rolls offered with dinner were also good. The service not so good. After our entrees were served we did not see the waiter. He never stopped by the table to see if we needed anything nor to refill our water glasses. When the bill came I was charged the wrong price for the chicken extra I had with my entree.

Will never stay anywhere else but here in Pt. Pleasant! The owners, the rooms, the restaurant, the walk to the beach and restaurants ALL make this place THE BEST in Pt. Pleasant! We stayed over 10 times last summer and were NEVER disappointed! The waiter knew us by first name and was always so polite during our stay.

Jersey Shore GetawayOne block off the beach, dog friendly, clean, comfortable, and just the right price. The staff/owners were nice and helpful. The room was beautiful and even included an ocean view. The front porch is where you will want to spend as much time as possible (when not on the beach) as it is lovely.

I bet your bedroom at home is nicerIn all of my years of traveling we have never been this disappointed. It was a one night stay booked a week before going for our anniversary and when we arrived they did not have the room we had reserved. We were told that it already had someone in it. I am not sure and could not get a straight answer as to how this happened. Needless to say under the circumstances for which we were in with Covid there were not to many options for us at this time. Where do you start at 4 pm after traveling to find another place that is suitable? We were booked into room 312 the floor under the one we were supposed to be on in The Georgette. The young lady who booked us in said there was nothing she could do but to offer us another room on the second floor. We went to take a look and it was worse then the one we had to stay in. The tv was fuzzy to view because they keep the tv at the lowest settings and do not leave anything but the cable remote in the room so you cant change the settings. The bed had sheets and blankets on it that looked like they were from the 1950's at best and the bed itself was like being in a water bed the mattress was so shot and the frame made it move all over the place. In the middle of the night my husband and I had to pull the trundle bed out as that was the better option...what a wonderful way to spend out anniversary. The bathroom was so small that if you are over 5 foot 7 your knees hit the bathroom door when you sit on the toilet. You actually have to go in sideways to close the door to the bathroom. The "ocean view" is a very tiny window on the back of the house and in our case was broken (see picture). Do not be fooled by the pictures of this place they must have been taken with a wide angle lens. I get this is a 1800 building and that it was not meant to be a luxury hotel, however, we have stayed in so many B&B's and this was a disaster. Maybe if we were in the original room that we booked on the 4th floor in the suite I might be writing a different review...I will never know because we would not go back here. There was no I am sorry, no reduction of rate or refund...just this is what we have...like it or leave it. Ohhh...I almost forgot that this is a "pet friendly" place. The room next to us had two dogs in it that barked from 700 am when its occupants left until 10 am when we checked out. There was no calling down to the front desk to complain about it as there is no phone in the room...not even an alarm clock. The only thing I can say positive is the water pressure was perfect if you could get into the shower...this room is designed for a slim teenager at best.
