  A Gem

  Just moved to the village of Tregynon and popped in on my way home from the shop to see what was there. Very surprised how beautiful the gardens and the house were. Lovely tranquil setting, helped the sun was shinning. everyone very helpfull and freindly. Joined a family membership for £30 for the year. This will give free carparking discount in the tea room and endless walks in the grounds. Looking forward to exploring the bees and the Lily lake plu smuch more.

  Gregynog Hall mid wales

  Not an easy place to find but worth it - a long drive up the stately homes entrance leaves you with an idea of the size of this place and its really big . I must admit its better suited to dog walkers than anyone else - has a car park (£2.50) but nobody seams to pay ground are lovely and very large - the house itself seem to see its future in weddings ans conferences , but I am assured its fantastic inside . Just comming into autumn is a great time to visit and while you would struggle to want to stay here all day a half day of walking is easy done . Try and respect the family that owns the house and pay £3 into the cardens . Cafe is also very good - better than you might expect

  Quirky but very hospitable

  A splendid looking mansion in a very beautiful quiet location. The impression I got was of faded splenour with some very antiquated bathrooms, but the welcome and food were excellent and the staff went to endless trouble to ensure a very pleasurable stay. No phone signal (blessing in disguise?!) though wi-fi is provided if you can get into it - mine only worked on the ground floor.

  So much to explore

  Fantastic hidden gem. Awesome place to explore. Its muddy so wear boots! (Even in the summer!) £2.50 cash for car park which is well worth it as so much to explore and enjoy. Plus a lovely cafe for a brew if you want. Head off the beaten tracks into the woods theres loads to see and do.

  Lovely woodland walks

  Visited just for the day, rather than a hotel stay. Lovely selection of woodland walks (although the blue walk could do with refreshed signage - do only if you have plenty of time and are happy to get lost in a field!). Lovely sandwiches at the courtyard cafe (only currently open Weds-Sun).
