  Hotel is very good but staff lack English

  First of all is the trick - check-in is on the 9th floor and the sign saying that is in Chinese. This is indicative of the lack of English is general despite the hotel being licensed to have foreign guests, I had a few challenges with receipts for deposits and a room lockout but they were only mildly frustrating. But the hotel is comfortable with a good bathroom, room layout and bed, The Air-con works superbly for heating and the view is not too shabby. It's good value too, the standard is 3.5 stars at a 2.5 star price The first of two standout features is the great internet, (we were in room 1120) probably the best I have had in China with no dropouts and good speed all day and night. There is individual wi-fi for each room. Usually China internet clogs in the evening. See, you other hotel managers, it is possible and achievable. The other standout is the location, right on walking street and so close to the Suning Centre shopping mall and Juizi Square. Close by restaurants and eateries are plentiful If you know some Chinese or are willing to do battle with the language barrier then this is a dream option.

  Foreigners be careful

  In my previous review I said the hotel was very good but the English level is a problem. This time it resulted in them not realising? that I already had a booking thru booking.com and trying to treat me as a walkin for 100rmb more. When I explained again that I already had a booking they reduced the room rate and threw in free breakfast. Not wishing to make a drama for 60rmb difference I accepted that. Later they listed me as a no show with booking.com so they were either totally confused or trying to extract more money from me on a very busy holiday weekend. The room 1306 was good, the internet is really good and we had a view of the Yangtse River and a good TV setup with free movies available. Very comfortable beds, clean and linen in good condition unlike many Chinese chain hotels. The location is really good if you want to be in the thick of the shopping area However the breakfast I accepted was very poor for example bread and a toaster but no butter or jam, no juice and really bad coffee. You seem to be always waiting an an elevator as there are only 2 and there are other businesses in the building. Wouldn't be pretty if one broke down. Altogether a strange experience and still puzzled about why it all happened that way.
