Nice inexpensive place to stay. This clean budget hotel is located across the street from the Yangtze river, Riverside Park. This park has a variety of statues, memorials and sculptures with explanations in English ( something not found in most major Chinese cities). This city also has a wonderful park called "Temple Mountain" what includes a nice park and long stairway leading to a Buddhist temple (handicap can take a taxi to the backside of the mountain to visit the temple and forget the stairs). The city also has a walking park on the Wu River with a nice small museum and again all the statues and sculptures have English explainations. By the way, this city has few foreign visitors, I have made three trips and only met one, an English teacher from Spain. Check out Xinwu Street nearby its nice.

Nice inexpensive hotelThis hotel has the perfect location: across the street is the Yangtze river park. A 2 mile long river walk park with sculptures, flowering trees, trees, some places three levels of river viewing. A walk downriver will take you to their international performing arts center. Next, behind this hotel is a new International Wine Center, build into an old catholic school (1924) with wine tasting, wine from around the world, food$$$, and parties. Wuhu has a very small foreign population altho' Canada has a joint college there and the Wuhu University has been accepting foreign students longer than any other in China (often students from 40 countries). At the upstream end of the Yangtze river park the tributary Yeets river park (new) starts where one can watch working ships cruising the canal/river and see the boats of the fishing families where they live and work. A nice city which has combined the old with the new China.
