    Situated in a back alley!??!

Got stuck with this hotel through a travel agent that booked a tour with 30 some-people. First and last time I go on a tour with a large group!! Sorry ......I degressed. First ..the hotel is too far from the city centre (25 mins., with the busy traffic of Shanghai), second, it's located in a alley way that has no amenities what-so-ever!! It has no QUEEN OR KING BEDS????????? I wanted to shoot my tour guide when I went in the hotel and he gave me the key when he informed me on that fact. Three... Oh by the way!!....they still use keys??!? That's a dead give away. I maybe expect that from a motel.........but a hotel.....no way. Four...its old, musky smelling, stained carpets throughout the hallways, and suites, no views out of the windows, small T.Vs (20 inches or so), and the bathroom looks like it came out of a Stephen King novel. Now..for the kicker.........the toilet has no tank!! It flushes' as long as the person using it holds down the lever. That's usually reserved for a bad public washroom. DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A SINGLE SHREDDED OF PERSONAL DIGNITY REGUARDING HYGIENE......you've been warned!!! Anddddddd..there's mold growing on the dry-wall in the main closet.

An older hotel with a beautiful lobby

I was part of a tour group from Canada that stayed here. It is quite far from "downtown" but it is in a quieter area. The hotel is older but was quite exceptable, lots of emenities, comfortable beds (firm, not hard) It's breakfast was problably the least enjoyable of all the hotels we stayed at on this tour. It has 2 gift shops plus a mini mart where you could buy wine, beer, liquor, ice cream, chips, bars. gum .etc, etc. I would recommend this hotel.

    Don't stay here!!

There are too many nice hotels in China and they are all very affordable. Why would anyone stay in a dump like this?!?! The lobby is nice, but it's all downhill from there. As soon as i left the elevator the musty stench of an old hotel with even older carpets was overwhelming. The room has decor from the 60's I swear, it's hard to believe that they wouldnr replace this stuff! Then I try to connect to the internet and you have to pay for it? Really? I could go on forever about this place but i am going to go look for another hotel instead. If you read these reviews and you still decide to stay here, you're an idiot!

    Pathetic

Not worthy place for international travelers... food is bad ; people from 5 countries who were with me had similar views...... They did not have facility to accept card for payment... few of my friends had to draw money to pay them!!! DONT EVEN THINK OF STAYING HERE
