  Hardware is good (some of it), but the rest is not 5 Star Quality

  Hotel is an about 1 1/2 hour drive from Hangzhou airport and an about 10 min drive from the highway. It takes about 20 min to go to the "downtown" of Xinchang. Rooms are large and comfortable. Bathroom has a walk in shower and a bathtub. Nice. Lightning is good. Water quantity is good, but the water is smelly. Beds are quite hard, but still comfortable. Electric plugs are about 1 1/2 meters away from the bed and next to the desk. They take EU and of course Chinese plugs. Next to the desk they also take UK plugs. However as the ones next to the desk are at an angle and quite lose, a typical Apple plugs does not hold and always falls out. Internet is lousy and barely working. VPNs are blocked. Though my Mifi the VPN worked well. The "internet" is LAN and Wifi based. But you SSID may be different. I got a little internet through a network called "cherry". Breakfast is quite OK, with average orange juice and some toast with butter and marmalade. No cheese or other cold cuts. Western style dinner is poor and it took 45 min for a club sandwich. Also the fried noodle took 40 min. There is also nothing around the hotel, except for some trees. Which is nice, but not if you want to see something from the city. Next time I will stay again in the Bai Yun Villa Hotel.

  Fantastic Wedding Anniversary Weekend

  This hotel was recommended to me whilst on a Business Trip to Xinchang. The location of the hotel is fabulous, right on top of the Pagoda Mountain, so the views are outstanding! After being in Shanghai for our first 3 Months, it was a delight to see beautiful lush green scenery again. As you expect of a 5 Star Hotel in China, from the outside it is grand in statue. And the service is excellent from the time you pull up outside. As Westerners we were an unusual addition to the hotel during the weekend, we were approached by many of the visiting Chinese who were curious and wanted to test their English. The hotels interior is beautifully decorated and very well maintained. Our Suite was something else, for the 3 of us it was massive, it would have been easily double the price in the UK! It was completely faultless, we couldn't have asked for more. We spent a couple of hours relaxing in the Bar, where the Beer was reasonably priced, Wine was by the bottle only and was limited on supply. We dined at around 07:30, two restaurants are available to choose from, one being Western (French?). We tried the Western at first, but were the only people in their so moved to the Traditional Chinese option. Wow the food was excellent! We had a selection of 3 Mains, Fried Rice and Noodles and it was all good. The menu was also easy to navigate, nothing to obscure! The next morning the Breakfast Buffet was very good and had the right mix Western and Chinese. We will definitely return to this hotel, but next time spend one extra night so that we can relax more before returning home. Don't miss out!

  The grounds are breathtaking! Comfy bed, clean bathroom and the view is just beautiful! The only downside is there is no internet in the room. Breakfast is included but due To our tight schedule , the staff packed breakfast for us. Great hospitality!

  Incredible Hotel

  This is a breathtaking hotel, as soon as you arrive it is absolute class, the entrance is fantastic. The rooms are very large with open bathrooms, my view was directly over a very large pool. One of the most, if not the most impressive hotel I have stayed in China

  Beautiful property and large room

  This hotel and the property are grand and well maintained. Nice architecture with marble throughout. The room was large and comfortable, except for the temperature, which was too warm for me and there was not way for me to change it from heating to cooling. The bathroom includes all the normal amenities, soaps, shampoo and conditioner. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and there is a rain shower above and also an hand held shower. My room had a large covered private balcony overlooking beautiful gardens, a pool and a lake. Breakfast was nice with juices, coffee (espresso), made to order eggs (although difficult to communicate my order to the chef making the eggs), omelets, fruit, made to order noodles and other hot and cold dishes. The breads could use some improvement.
