  A typical German-style hotel tucked away on the outskirts of the city

  I have nothing against chain hotels and they are often fine for business, but I do try and stay at locally run inns and hotels, not only to support the local economy but also the staff are very well informed about places to go, restaurants to try and special attractions to visit since they are often longtime locals. Indeed, when I have visitors from abroad, I like to share the local experience with them so they can see something other than globalised generic tourist options. Landhotel Dresden fit the bill when I had first-time German visitors recently and it seemed that most other options in Dresden were loads of chain hotels. From the main train station, we were about a 10-minute car ride away. Though technically still very urban, the hotel itself had a countryside feeling with peace and quiet and nature almost on all corners. Breakfast was included - though this needs to be confirmed as we received two different answers about this - the accommodations were clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. My room was on the ground floor and opened to the parking area, so that was a little noisy during the time when restaurant guests were leaving. The restaurant came recommended, but was closed on both evenings we were there because they had wedding receptions going on - sign that the the locale must be pretty good. Despite being busy with the two events, we found the staff helpful and flexible. There were mini bars in the rooms, which was a good thing because it was incredibly hot during our stay and we forgot to busy drinks while puttering around the city. Having lived in Germany for more than 25 years, I can say without hesitation that I would probably come back here the next time I visit Dresden

  Mwoah!

  One night. Not so impressed by this hotel. They claim to be child friendly but I don't see why. Playground not in sight of the hotel and you can not even call it a playground. It's a sandpit hidden away with some broken toys around it. A child is allowed to sleep in the same bed. For this reason booked a Queens size bed. Bed was smaller then a double bed. Not even an extra blanket or pillow! Breakfast 8 euros p.p not worth it! Staff very friendly and helpfull. Hotel and surroundings clean and nice. Outskirts of Dresden.

  Conveniently and very quiet situated

  This hotel is very good and convenient, good rooms, good food and good service. What I like most is the location: its at the countryside almost outside the city and very quite and in the middle of nature; at the same time 5 minutes from the Autobahn, a shopping center, 30 min to the Elbsandsteingebirge, the inner city, the Blue-Wonder-Bridge. We stay there every time we go to Dresden.

  no way

  it is not included breakfast , it is a lie. no conditional air , no fridge , very small room . i will not recomend this hotel , it is very far sway from the city center ! no way . it is the first time when i select a hotel like this at this price !
