Peace, Tranquility & Natural SplendorAlthough off the beaten path, the road getting to the destination was well worth the winding roads. I was getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life and I couldn't have picked a better spot to start my "covered bridge of VT" self-guided tour. Coincidently, the first bridge was right outside the doors of the Green River Bridge House (GRBH). Upon arrival you can feel the calm come over you from the sounds of the river on the property to our hostess, Joan, welcoming us. Her warmth and kindness is only exceeded by this picturesque property in a well-appointed home akin to an English Country manor. She truly is a lovely person and a great cook. A lovely breakfast with everything made from scratch. Her culinary skills are fabulous and the best way to start a very busy day of touring covered bridges. This is a not-to-be missed experience of peace, tranquility and natural splendor in the Green Mountains of Vermont. We will definitely be back. Cathy & Jim

27 year anniversary to rememberUnbelievable location. Waterfall, stream and covered bridge outside our room. Home is beautiful. Joan is even more incredible. Her home and rehab love story is remarkable. What a wonderful person. Felt like we knew her forever. Her hospitality is above any other. The other guests were like family. Just a really enjoyable experience. See you soon Joan.

A Gem of an InnThe Green River Bridge House is a gem of an inn. It's a very peaceful place with the garden backing onto the scenic Green River. Joan, the innkeeper couldn't have been nicer. We stayed four nights and enjoyed four fantastic breakfasts, all different and diverse, using local ingredients, when possible from the trees and vegetable patch in the garden. Each breakfast had a fruit course and a hot course, for instance quiche with crispy bacon, potatoes with grilled vegetables and a fresh out of the oven blueberry muffin. We were asked about our likes and dislikes and had the feeling that each breakfast was made with the individual guest in mind. We felt truely spoilt. Breakfast was served in the dining room with the view of the garden and river. Our room was very comfortable and spotless. We stayed in the Sunrise room, which had the benefit of a jacuzzi and a balcony from where we could enjoy the stars. It's just a 10 minutes drive from the next town, a very quiet spot where stars can be seen without light pollution. And the only noise we could hear was the river. We were very sad to leave and we promised ourselves to come back as soon as possible!

A place you want to return again and againWe felt like we'd come home! We would absolutely love to return here again and again! Joan felt like a friend, immediately....welcoming us with a hug and I'm so glad youre here! The room was delightful, everything we could need....including our very own jacuzzi in the room. We stayed in The Sunrise Room! It was absolutely perfect with a balcony that overlooked the river and the beautifully maintained grounds! Joan made us feel so at home and the food.....well, lets just say it couldnt have been more delicious! If you like historical homes and a setting to die for, this is your chance to experience both! You wont regret a moment! Call right now to reserve your room before theyre full up!

LOVED this innThis Inn is one of the most beautiful inns Ive stayed at in VT. The grounds are so serene, with the river and waterfall running alongside the property, lulling you to sleep at night. If youre looking for an iconic New England covered bridge, there is one just 42 steps away from the front door. Joan, the owner, is very warm & welcoming. She made a delcious breakfast and told stories of her time in Guilford VT & her renovations to the inn. I felt inspired by her stories and was glad to hv met her. When my daughter and I left, we knew we would be returning! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!! Thanks again, Joanie! JC
