Horrific value for money. It's not a resort at allWhen we arrived, the staff didn't know that we booked (bad start). They barely speak english, we didn't understand a single word. There was a problem about the breakfast, they were not capable to explain anything to us, we HAD TO PAY for one breakfast in the city (it is supposed to be included). The room was sort of clean. We stayed for 3 nights, they never cleaned a single time the room, nor tiding, nor making the beds (for the price we pay, it is unacceptable). In the room, there was no bedside lamp : only an awful neon light on the wall. Concerning the breakfast, maybe it is better to go outside and pay. Nothing to eat for westerners (just toasts and warm margarine !! on a sticky table !) Also, please do not take a look on the kitchens ! DISGUSTING would be a sweet word ... i wouldn't be surprised f I saw a cockroach ! To end, I want to warn you that the hotel is right NEXT TO garbage dump (mountains of acid batteries, old broken windows, ...). So, as if it isn't enough that we don't have a seaview from the rooms, you have to go along the trash to enter the hotel ! Of course, you don't see that in the pictures. Avoiding is the best thing you can do.

Least accommodating placeWe arrive around 1:30 PM and they tell us that the promised bikes are not available until 5 pm. Very inconvenient as there is zero transportation on the island. But whatever. They also inform us that our rooms will not available until 3 either. Great. So we are stranded on the disgusting street outside the hotel, meanwhile we are starving and there are only two restaurants within walking distance, both closed until dinner time. Also do not expect luxury. The rooms are gross and way overpriced. Just don't.

Horrific experienceDirty, unthoughtful, and rude are the three words I would use to describe this awful facade of a hotel. They will lie to you about having scooters, bikes, or really any transportation ready for you upon arrival (there are no taxis on this island). Their breakfast can be summed up as soggy soapy eggs and toast. Electrical outlets seem to be minutes from being ablaze, the elevator was broken (a child in a wheelchair staying during the same time period had to be carried up and down from his room), and there is a massive dump of old metal scrap right next door (seaside view). Case and point, we were taken snorkeling setup by our hotel. We got to the place, they set us up with wetsuits, and they just walked us out into the rocky surf. Two in our party were not strong swimmers and voiced their concerns with the management from the beginning. They were told, "it's fine, children do it" and all of us were forced to follow said coach into the surf pulled by a floating line one must hold onto. Shortly into this one of of party lost hold of the line. She then banged her body on the rocks and started choking in the surf. We shouted in English and Chinese to the coach, he made eye contact and continued. We shouted again and other in the party waved to the couch and he threw dismissive hands. So we had to get our entire party back through this treacherous bay with rocks and jagged coral, then walk all the way back to the store 20mins away. We asked the store operator for our money back since we were in the water for 5 minutes and the coach did not do his duties. He scoffed and laughed, no refunds ever he said. Finally he said bring the hotel people down and they can work out a deal since its a joint venture. The hotel did not care, did not back up our complaints, and actually insulted our friend who ran into trouble at the beach. This island is not prepared for tourism. We couldn't even leave early due to the limited ferry and plane options. We were stuck for hours. This island will forever be a awful memory in my mind. I cannot wait for for the seas the erode this former prison island into a forgotten memory. As one stranger to another I urge you to save yourself the awful experience and avoid this island and especially this miserable hotel. I'm never one to complain or write reviews, but for this "vacation" I am willing to take the time. I wish all readers the best and suggest you all to try Kenting or Hualien. Warmest regards, Michael

OvervaluedJust made a bad catch. Been ripped by Green Island Bali Resort and the Green Island Old Car Club. The driver of the Resort talks you in the car tour trip, the hotel cashes out. If you take their advice for ongoing stays wherever, esp. Lanyu, expect the worst. If you don't scuba dive, get there by first boat, rent an electric scooter, get to the lagoon beside the lighthouse+MOVE ON. It's not worth it. If you are a hot spring lover, best explore all yourself.

Simple Rip-OffIt starts with the transfer from the harbour. The driver talks you in a private car tour, if not him, the hotel personnel will do. It doubles the already double cost of the unmended hotel, if compared to all places around. Should you ever ask any of them for advice, be sure you will not be advised to your advantage. If you dont scuba dive, avoid the island or find yourself quickest way to the hot springs in beach range or the lagoon beside the lighthouse and make it a day trip.
