Great Time, CLEAN and SafeWe had a great time during our Thanksgiving holiday. We got in Thursday evening and stayed until Sat. From the very minute of arrival we saw staff cleaning the luggage carts, There were signs in plain site out their social distance changes and requirements, no second guessing. Amanda at the front desk was extremely helpful. She anticipated our needs and made helpful suggestions that further bettered our experience. Even when we repeated a questions she'd had already answered she smile with out missing a beat and stayed helpful. The staff was visible with cleaning, you can see them in their pretty purple shirts sanitizing common areas and commonly touched areas. There are hand sanitizing stations throughout. We felt safe when communicating, riding the elevators ( one family at a time- bravo on that) social distance story time. It was just great. I was hoping I didnt regret bringing my family in these uncertain time and they made sure I had no regrets...Only issue I'd say was Water part close time and story time couldve been extended... but otherwise a perfectly fun and SAFE and CLEAN place to stay!!

Save your money and go somewhere else.We visited with 2 young children and were told on arrival that our room would be available soon even though it was not quite checkin time yet. While we were waiting we visited the park since you do have access before your room is ready. We didnt last more than an hour in the water because the water was not heated and there is a giant fan that causes a breeze and both my children were shivering after 40 minutes and crying because they were cold. The room itself is very muggy and comfortable when you arent wet but when youre coming out of cold water the breeze makes it too cold for young kids. After leaving the park area we stopped by the desk again to see if our room was ready because one of the kids needed to nap. We were told at 2 pm that the room was currently being cleaned and it shouldnt be more than half hour. At 4:15 my husband finally went and spoke to the manager because our room was still not ready and we had seen plenty of guests who arrived after us taking luggage up to rooms. They put us in a different room after that. We had requested a pack n play from the hotel and one was brought to the room. Upon opening it we could smell vomit and surely enough the top bars were crusted with it. The floors of our new room didnt seem to be vacuumed. There was a small pile of nail clippings on the floor next to the bed. For paying almost $300 for the night I expected much more. We wont be staying here again.

Nice but crowdedSo this is our third trip to Great Wolf Sandusky. Out of all the Great Wolf's we have been to, this one is slightly worse than the others---although still fun. We had a deal with discounted room rates and $50 food credit. Accordingly, I prepaid for the breakfast buffet. Nowhere on the bill is the $50 taken off. I had to call customer service who said it'll show up when we visit. When I show up, they said that the $50 is only taken off food I bill to the room, so my prepaid breakfast doesn't count! Why does it have to be so difficult!!! /end rant. The room was ready around 340pm and notified with text message. We were enjoying the water park at 1330 though. I was surprised by the number of people at this time, but turns out it is far more crowded in the late afternoon and evening! Best time of day for reduced crowds was at 10am opening. In the water park, it is next to impossible to wear you mask going in and out of the water. No one was wearing a.mask except on arrival and departure. WIth this many people, social distancing was not in compliance. I would be surprised if this many people would be in compliance with state guidelines. If you or any loved one is at risk for serious complications from COVID, I would avoid this water park. Thankfully, most in our family have had covid, been vaccinated, or are too young to be at risk from it. The room was clean and served our party of six well. I wish the TV above the fireplace were larger. Yes, we are there for the waterpark but with young kids, it sure is nice to unwind with some TV before bedtime. All in all an enjoyable trip.

If you want to sleep at night, stay away! The room was terrible. Night one we had loud people above us until 1 am just stomping around, AND next door until like maybe 3 am. They were having a party just yelling, talking, going outside on the patio and being loud. We barely slept. Night 2 those people all checked out BUT an incessant buzzing sound was going off and on all night. I complained, but the source could not be determined. It sounded like a bad fan and it was either above us or outside. I recorded it to play for staff and they noted it and did try to discover it but to no avail. We were in a room that backed up to the giant HVAC system so it could have been coming from there. Suffice it to say, we stayed two nights but slept zero nights. We will never go back to this GWL. Then theres the PawPledge. I called to confirm before arriving what this meant. I was told that they restrict occupancy based on water park capacity so that guests staying can all be at the park and still be able to reasonably social distance if desired. On the day we left we found it impossible to social distance in the water park. People were arriving by the 10s and 20s. People were stealing chairs - there was no where to stand, sit or swim where someone was not right next to you. The first two days were crowded but acceptable regarding what I expected in that we could find pockets where people werent packed in. That last day was dangerous and we left ASAP. I was very glad that we did not arrive later in the week. They will have an outbreak if they continue with these practices. I will say that the staff was amazing. They do a great job with the events, family activities, cleaning, and just overall friendliness. They deserve to work in a place that strives for higher quality for the guest experience.

Great Stay - Set Your Expectations Appropriately! This was our first trip to a Great Wolf Lodge, originally suppose to visit the Michigan location but was closed due to COVID. Great Wolf reservations were great and we were able to change over to this location which was still open and also received very generous account credits to use at the resort. We stayed in a Royal Bear Suite and did purchase early check-in, room was ready when we arrived on a high floor which was nice. Now to expectations, this was a "lodge" type experience so the room is probably a 2 or 3 star at a "normal" hotel, nothing overly fancy but was very clean and spacious for our group. Quite honestly we spent very little time in our room and literally spent the entire days of our weekend visit in the waterpark. The waterpark was very clean and the resort was trying to adhere to COVID conditions the best they could with reduced capacity, spaced out seating and sanitizing everywhere. The food/drinks in the waterpark were decently priced and of good quality for the type of experience it was. We did 100% of our dining at the resort, dinner was a bit expensive for what it was (burgers and kids meals) but was decent quality. We could have easily eaten off-property but didn't want to spend the time or leave the waterpark as there are many options around for dining. Breakfast was good as well. We also did check out the "game" they have on-property where you purchase magic wands and discover treasure around which our kids enjoyed. Ultimately though it was all about the waterpark, we spent a Fri-Sun weekend here and did that almost the entire time from open to close; I would say a weekend is probably long enough. Overall, enjoyed the complete experience that Great Wolf provided and can't wait to checkout our local Michigan location once it re-opens from COVID.
