  If Mauritius its Grants Villa only!!!!

  We have visited Grants Villa last week of Apr 2015. Villa is bang on the beach and exactly what showed on their website. All amenities like 5 star hotels were available. Since we are pure veggi, kitchen amenities helps us a lot. Mr. Grant & Mr. Aved were very cordial & helpful. Mr. Aved has also helps us in arranging south tour & suba diving. One can skip is north tour, 7 colored land, Ganga Taloa, under water sea walk Villa is opposite to ill cerf iland where all water activities are happening. We had good time since we took Bollywood musics with us and music system was also very good. You can spend your time in villa feels too much rejuvenated and relax, no need to go for much activities & tours. Over all it was great experience in Mauritius and credit goes to Grants Villa as they have matched our exceptions. Special thanks to Mr. Grant & Mr. Aved.

  And now for an honest review - It's not a villa it's a damp, run down apartment !

  Lets get to the point here straight away, it's not a villa it's an apartment. The two bedroomed apartment is up a steep flight of 18 steps. The ground floor consists of the three bedroomed apartment. There is no 'private beach'. The property faces on to the beach which is used by everyone and in particular packs of scavenging wild dogs which make it dangerous for young children. Additionally the local speed boat operators moor their speed boats right up against the beach making swimming dangerous and the water full of petrol fumes. The grounds have a healthy population of rats which come out the play in the evening and the rat poison box is right next to the apartment door. During our two weeks there in May 2015 the Internet was down for six days, the response from the management was disappointing, and when it was up and running the speed was never more than 1mps so as to make it fairly useless. The TV is a broadband powered system which means that the picture is badly distorted and painful to watch. The roof leaks badly into the rear lounge and second bedroom so that there is a terrible smell of mould and damp on many of the walls and was probably a major contributor to the chest infection which laid me low when I was there and needed the doctor to prescribe antibiotics. There are two safes- neither works and simply sit in a cupboard so could be carried off by a thief. The water supply is very intermittent and went off for three days. This means there was no water for showering, dishes or even flushing the toilet- disgusting. It is not luxurious, it is basic: on arrival the 'welcome pack' was a bag of washing powder (but there is no washing machine), a pack of cotton buds , a toothbrush and one toilet roll for two toilets. I received a painful electric shock from the bedside lamp which had a broken plug and was enough to trip the switch on the circuit board. All the pans are badly scratched and have no nonstick coating on any of them. After nine days I'd had enough and asked for a refund of the remaining nights so that I could stay somewhere decent- the owner responded with the most offensive and threatening email which I'm happy to forward to anyone. I find it a matter of concern that many of the glowing reviews for this shocking property are from people who have only ever posted one or twice , but I'll let Trip Adviser investigate that. I booked what was supposed to be a luxurious villa with a private beach. I got a run down apartment with a public beach and a selection of charming Indian families in the apartment below but I didn't share their love of high volume Bollywood music played at all hours of the night. The website bears little resemblance to the truth and the photographs have obviously been 'improved'. Oh, I forgot to mention the rusting dining chairs and copious amounts of ants in the apartment. I hope that my history of many reviews on this site over many years shows that I am always objective and give the benefit of the doubt. However, this is the worst case of an inaccurately described property that I have ever come across. My advice is avoid at all costs.

  One of the best vacations at Grants Villas Mauritius

  The villa is amazing... situated right on the beach with all the modern amenities... We were 2 couples travelling with an infant, but thanks to all the kitchen amenities, my stay was wonderful and quite peaceful as I could cook infant food quickly at regular intervals. The villa is exactly the way it is shown in the photographs. It was so peaceful that we preferred staying in the villa for most of the time rather than venturing out. We stayed in the kiwi villa and I must mention that the interiors are very well done - considering its name (everything was in shades of Green -furniture, paintings, curtains, kitchenware, towels, bean bags, bed sheets etc). You can sit in the villa and enjoy the stunning view of the ocean which has nearly 4-5 shades of water. In the evenings, we use to play music which was rejuvenating. Cooking was very easy on the 4 stove induction and the microwave. The maid comes everyday except Sunday for cleaning. She even washed our clothes 2-3 times. There is a separate room for washing machine and the keys for the same are with the maid only. There was a small problem of ants and rats.. but i guess, that can be controlled. We use to wipe off the kitchen platform and dining table immediately after having food to avoid ants. The rats were usually seen during night and hence we used to keep the glass doors closed after sunset. Wifi was good. There is a landline as well and you are allowed to make unlimited local calls from there. Mr. Aved was always there to help us for everything. This was one of the best vacations we had till now. We will definitely recommend this villa to all our friends and we too look forward to visiting the same again.

  "grants villas is the best by all means"

  hi friends , i want to share my experience with you , its best place to stay for families and couples ,its on beach property what they shown on their websites ,and exactly besides to lle aux surf island , the best part is they have full kitchen aminities with them you name it and get it , they have good sevices , mr aved and service staff(maid,gardner) was very help full ,there is a little problem of rats and ants but it is controlable by maintaing cleanliness, if in future i want to go to mauritius i will deffinately prefer grants villa only and one more thing guys we made a barbaque there i mean they have that facility also ,superb it was amazing holiday

  Unbelievable

  Grants Villa is the only place to stay in Mauritius.....Mr and Mrs Aved took fantastic care of us .. We were 8 people who were amazed to see the sea with such colours right in front of our living room . Perfect decor , well appointed furniture, class kitchen .. What else to ask for .. Better than staying in a 5 star ..
