Ideal location for my Sons wedding.I stayed 5 nights in a double room with a sea view balcony, the view was glorious. The room was very nice and the bathroom/shower looked new. The air con could have been a bit better but it was ok. I used the beach and pool daily last year for 10 days, both are excellent. This year the pool was being filled on my first day so it was a bit chilly when we started using it. The function rooms are superb for classic wedding functions the service and food all top notch. It seems there are a lot of weddings here so one should consider that. There will be a lot of people about and the parking can be a bit frantic. The breakfast was fine, lots of staff around to help with top ups etc.. There are plenty of other bars and restaurants within walking distance. The beach and pool close at 6.30 which is a bit annoying, especially the pool which is lovely but I like an evening swim. I look forward to staying again.

Stunning wedding venueWe held our daughters wedding reception here Situated on the beach we held a blessing service there. Then we had an amazing buffet outside before moving into a lavish meal with music in the main dining hall. Before going down to the basement for dessert and dancing Absolutely amazing

Most wonderful hotel in the area : from service to location.I have been a regular guest at this hotel for many years, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet (and romantic!) stay in the heart of the city. The hotel retains its historic allure with villas dating back to the early 1900s and panoramic views on the coast of Formia. Although it's not located in the most vibrant area of the city, if you go for an evening walk there are several bars further down the street and a corner bar known as Bar Elsa, which serves delicious croissants until late at night. The staff is friendly and they will try their best to accommodate all your needs, even though not all the staff members possess a high level of English. The Director, Antonio Celletti, cares deeply about all of his guests and their comfort, and is a very kind and approachable man. He will ensure that you are happy with your stay at all times. There is a private beach, reachable only by foot (you have to go down a winding stairwell of stone steps), but the hotel also offers a beautiful private pool which is more easily reachable for the older guests. Most rooms also have their own private balconies. Due to the hotel's majestic setting, it hosts a large number of weddings which liven the atmosphere quite a bit. It's naturally busier and more crowded when a wedding is on, but the hotel guests are not forgotten and they are served either in the main restaurant or in the 'grotta' below. Service could, however, be slower at these times. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a lively stay offering a selection of activities / tours. The hotel offers an all-inclusive quite escape for guests who want to relax, eat well, walk a short distance for a swim, and take advantage of some of the city's most scenic views. Grande Albergo Miramare is one of a kind.

Very nice hôtel from former times... not a sterile, modern design boutique hotel without soul .. but a traditional hotel, am old building though with all amenities .. great view on the sea, nice pool, private beach .. the suite has an exceptional terrace with a breathtaking view. Definitely a good choice.
