  Underwhelming

  This hotel needs a complete revamp. Tired and used is the feel you get when you arrive. Rooms are so outdated and definitely not the 5 star rating it promotes. I had no water to the show or bath and when I complained this explained that it was because you had to turn a switch on. This was not case. Wet carpet soaked floor in the room hallway. Wouldnt recommend staying here if you are considering and expecting a high quality hotel.

  price is right but hotel is just average

  this hotel was one of the first 5 star hotels in qingdao, and is now a little tired. be sure to ask for a non-smoking room because many floors are smoking floors. Floor 20 is pretty nice. rooms are clean. beds are firm. breakfast buffet is good enough but nothing special. exercise room is usually empty but machines are in good shape. all in all good value for the money, but not much more than a clean room and a good sleep.

  THE MOST APPALLING HOTEL I HAVE BEEN TO

  This hotel has to be the worst hotel I have ever been to. The service was so-so but the whole aesthetics and presentation and quality of furniture were so dull. There is nothing grand about this hotel. The hotel should be sued for misrepresentation. I was amazed to see 1960s style furniture, upon reading the guest manual in the room, I read, some clients prefer traditional and old style architecture, seriously?? I must say no one wants to see carpet which hasnt been replaced since 1920, gym equipment which hasnt been maintained since 1990. The hotel boasts of diplomats and head of state living there, well since the inaugural of the hotel in 1999, no one has stayed there in recent times. The swimming pool was pathetic and the gyms equipment was rusty and extremely in need of replacement. Only positive was the japanese style toilet seat in the bathroom. Tennis court was broken and requires a lot of care and attention. Most of the hotel is simply a big building which is more of a ghost town. I would simply urge all travelers to please avoid this horrible hotel.

  Decent hotel, walking distance to subway

  This is not a luxury hotel. It provides good, clean, convenient accommodations. The rooms are comfortable. Staff was friendly and was always kind to my inquiring 7 year. If you are looking for a true 5 star hotel, this isn't your place. Yes, rooms are a little outdated, but after a long day of sightseeing, my family wants a clean, comfortable room with a good shower. Also, the restaurant in the basement serves good food.

  On all fronts, where else would you stay?

  I only came to book this hotel by chance. From the moment the young counter staff Mr. Song checked us in with a breeze, we were contented to find the room on 18th floor our ideal home in the next few days, followed by the well appointed facililities such as free wi-fi (automatic), coffee-making machine, washroom, bedding, tv, couch and everything else. After a comfortable sleep in the night, we enjoyed the buffet breakfast on 2nd floor Cafe serving quite a variety of tasty and thoughtful local and Western dishes in a spacious hall filled with non-stopped light music. When we headed out to tour around, we found the C Entrance of the Kaoxiang Road Metro Station was right next to the hotel compound, while bus stops were also nearby along the Hong Kong Middle Road in junction with Taiwan Road. To be fair, the hotel deserves to carry its name brand Regency in Hong Kong!
