Terrible terrible hotel, do not be fooled by the price or star ratingI had the misfortune to have a weeks holiday at this alleged 4 star hotel in August 2015. I will start with the positive because it will take the least amount of time. The view is spectacular, truly gorgeous. Believe me when I say the view is the only positive from this hotel as the rest of it is truly shocking. I would strongly recommend if you are thinking of staying in this hotel then please don't. It claims to be a 4 star but 2 star would be more appropriate. The worst part of the stay is without doubt the peculiar decision by the management to play the loudest most hardcore banging music by the pool from 11am in the morning until 5pm in the evening WITHOUT let up. When I say loud I mean so loud you can't have a conversation with someone who is 2 metres away. It dominates every corner of the hotel and if you happen to have a room near the pool then don't expect any peace in your room either. Complaints make no difference to the DJ as he has been told he has to play it. The rest of the stay was equally as bad, staff were on the whole uninterested, hotel was filthy and falling apart, rooms not in the hotel building smelt of sewerage outside, food was bland and unimaginative (chef even struggled with hard boiled eggs one morning), had to pay for drinks after 11pm the list goes on and on and on. Please don't be fooled by the pictures on their website, this hotel looks plush but trust me it is anything but. Please heed my advise and avoid at all costs.

Best place on earthABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE!!! Home away from home staff are so so friendly. The pool and the poolside view is out of this world. I can not wait for the refurb to take place and be completed so we can head back there!! The owners and management are so so helpful and welcoming xxx

Good for couplesMy partner and I stayed at the Grand Newport hotel for 10 nights in June 2015. I found that the hotel was rather clean and pleasant. The staff were friendly enough, despite having communications barriers at times. The entertainment, food and pool facilities at the hotel were above average. However, there were some 'downsides' to the stay: -Over 90 steps between our room and the pool/main level. -No wifi if you're allocated a room too far away -Air-con and fridge were very temperamental in the room, BUT we had a lovely view of the sea from our room. -The hotel is often advertised as a short amount of meters from the beach.... they are referring to a deck they have in the sea, you're not actually on the beach. However, Gumbet beach and the strip are only a 15-20 min walk away (step out the hotel and head right). If you keep walking right, you will eventually see a pharmaceutical shop on the left and a taxi rank opposite the junction/on the right- if you walk down this road, then there are lots of bars, shops and lovely places to eat. I found that once you get into this popular area there a lot more to do- We did: parasailing/water sports, boat trip, camel ride and dirt buggies, but there was so much more. Wouldn't recommend a Turkish bath though :'D Overall, I would probably stay here again but I would try and gain a room that is close to main level consisting of reception/bars/pool and restaurant.

love the pool in the hotelTwo years ago I visited the hotel early in the season. I was very pleased with everything in the hotel, but mostly I liked its location. The rooms are large, very well furnished, created comfort. The balconies are large, with nice views. From everything I was most delighted by the all inclusive - a great assortment of food and drinks, there were all kinds of fruit. The food was cooked very well, nicely seasoned and the restaurant shone with cleanliness. I can say that great care for its guests and we did not need anything to buy extra.
