  Friendly but run down

  As all the other hotels in Kartalkaya, the hotel is right next to the slopes, and pretty much everything (breakfast, lunch, dinner, extra drinks, ski pass, etc) is included in the price, which makes the stay very easy and comfortable. The hotel itself is a bit run-down, and the interior reminds a bit of the movie The Shining. But the staff is super-helpful, and the food is pretty good too. The rooms could need a refurbishment, but all in all it's clean and pretty comfy. The slopes are not bad, but not much compared to the Alps or the Rockies. One of the times we visited, only three slopes were open, which was quite disappointing.

  Very bad service, no water at room

  We came here at high season paying a significant money. We were sold as all inclusive. However, even no water at rooms and everything is charged. All cafes (if you call them cafe) are extra, only a few drinks in lobby are free as long as you can find a person to serve you anything. Managers are rude and they dont care about you.

  Coming out of 90s, lovely staff

  The hotel at first sight looks a bit old; but when you look detailed you see everything is well preserved and the hotel doesnt give you a sense of old. The staff are really kind, super nice. We asked just a simple question about lobby to waiter Erkan at the restaurant, he responded us; then came again one hour later to confirm what he had just said. We had already forgotten about the question, but he didnt and worked to inform us with the correct information. Very small but nice detail. The slopes are good, especially when it is not very crowded.

  Your familys ski-resort

  We stayed at Grand Kartal between 15-17 Feb 2019, with my two daughter and my wife. Its a well know hotel at the area and we stayed there at 2008 last time. Rooms are not so high-tech, there is no minibar but everything in the room are functional, clean. Foods are amazing, relaxing lounge is huge, there is 5pm coffe/tea time, plenty of ski/snowboard instructors in the hotel and they have very good operating equipment rental facilty. They have underground parking, excellent staff.

  couldnt sleep because of the noise

  Me and my son stayed at room #2002, i could not sleep because of the noise coming from radiators. my guess is that rooms located at second floor close to the central heating unit have the same problem. The hotel management pretend like they had no idea about the source of the noise. Plus they still use the T bar lifts that they had 20 years ago. There is only two chair lifts in the ski resort. After one day, your legs start to crumble. Please go somewhere else.
