Down one starWe returned this year after a great experience the year before and were disappointed to find that standards had slipped. We didn't manage to get a room upgrade this time due to late booking but the standard rooms were good anyway. Location remains great for the slopes and the bars have a good atmosphere, well used though pricey. It was the restaurant where the standards had slipped. We choose Italy skiing partly for the inclusive drinks with meals, last year was quality. This year the the hardest red to get down was the one they put on our table each night. (Who serves fizzy red?) The white was undrinkable as an alternative and the cheapest to buy was £25. Beer like lucozade saw us drink a fair amount of water. Don't go expecting the dining room to provide much in the way of taste, although later each evening we were treated to the cabaret of the head waiters bickering theatrically.

Good hotel, great location, enjoyed our overall stayFeb 08th - 15th 2020 Booked a last minute holiday through Crystal ski for myself and my girlfriend (29 & 30) - on arrival to our hotel we noticed that the full coach was for our hotel which personally I was happy with the majority of the hotel being English, check in was quick to say a bus load of people were checking in at the same time .. the bus didnt drop you off right at the door because there's limited access but its only a short walk to bring your luggage up. Room - a little disappointed with our room as the pictures looked really nice on crystal but we realized they were upgraded rooms that Crystal didn't make us aware of so no blame on the hotel more annoyed at crystal for that. Room was basic, but nice view from the front of the hotel looking up towards the Glacier, water in the room daily and cleaned well. Bathroom was okay, nice shower and cleaned often .. the only bad thing was the hair dryer. As a lot of reviews have said the heating situation is extremely annoying, we had a lot of sleepless nights due to being too hot & opening the window in -8 it soon turns too cold - frustrating after you've had a long day boarding and not be able to have a good sleep. Food / dining - On our first night we were shown to a table next to loud couple, we didn't let it ruin our night as we thought we can just move to a different table the next day, unfortunately that wasn't the case and we were told at breakfast by a pretty abrupt waitress that was our table for the week, Again we didn't let it ruin our week just kept to ourselves. BREAKFAST - We enjoyed the breakfast, not a huge choice of cereals for my partner but I enjoyed the cooked section and the jam selection was so good! Dinner - choices of pasta dishes which were okay, not 4/5* standards but we're not massively fussy when it comes to food so we were always full, salad bar was lacking slightly but not a big loss. puddings seemed to be repeated often just with a new filling, still no complaints ... although one night they had profiteroles when we entered the dining room and couldn't wait to have some, when we had finished our meal the chefs didn't bring anymore out which seemed to be the case most nights that early diners had the best pick of the food. DRINK - A nice surprise to find out the drinks were free, bottled water, soft drinks, beer tap, bottled wine .. we are no wine connoisseurs by any means but the wine wasn't that bad. Baffles me how people are complaining about FREE drinks!! seen a couple of people getting told not to take water out the dining room, again its free drink it before you leave. Bar - we went down to the bar most nights for a couple of drinks before bed, wasn't much atmosphere most nights as it was never very busy but always got a seat which is happy days. I cannot remember the bar mans name think it was Lorenzo but he was a good lad remembered our orders from the first night and always had a good laugh but still professional. Umbrella bar above is owned by the hotel I believe which is good for some apres drinks and the slope side restaurant next to the hotel offered a free lunch from the hotel on arrival with some vouchers which was a nice touch. Hotel is kind of ski IN which is always a bonus & straight out to some lifts / slopes that lead down the valley so the location was spot on! Snowboard rental shop under the hotel as well so no lugging your kit back half way in town at the end of the week. All in all a good holiday, my girlfriends first boarding holiday and she absolutely loved it. In my opinion Passo is more of a family resort so I probably wouldn't return on a couples holiday but would recommend.
