Fabulous historical hotelThank you so much for a brief but comfortable stay in your wonderful hotel. I cant quite believe that Limoux hosts such a treasure in the middle of town. Waking up to the sounds of the market setting up was such a joy! For those who find this annoying I suggest you go to a hotel in the country, this is typical french life! We arrived late at night after a very long hot day of travel. We had the codes to get through the beautiful 15th century door, just needs a bit of a push, cant quite believe that would ruin someones stay!! You walk into a fabulous hallway and turn back time, the magnificent stone stairs lead up to the rooms, NOT steep, and easy to ascend. A lift would absolutely ruin this beautiful building..for those who really need a lift in their lives I suggest you go to a another more modern hotel. There are plenty about. Air conditioning worked a dream. Lovely fresh bed linen and towels.. Yes, the bedrooms may need a bit of modernising but I found it extremely comfortable..its difficult to modernise such a beautiful building without spoiling the feel and then of course the prices would be sky high! We paid 50 euros each in high season.. such a good price for chance to step back in time in this historical building that luckily has not been spoilt by an awful renovation, which is so often the case.. Breakfast was perfect, some lovely home made jams fresh fruit yogurts toast, fresh hams cheese, croissants. Abundant! Very good coffee and tea.. Lovely staff, very helpful, knowledgable and proud of the history of their hotel. I highly recommend for those who love authenticity, historical places and good service, who can also detach themselves from the modern idea that everything has to be perfect 100% of the time and who dont focus on minor foibles that could ruin an otherwise perfect stay.

Fabulous historical old hotel in the centre of townWe had to find a hotel in Limoux at the last minute and booked this one as it is central. We were arriving late and so the (very helpful) young man at the reception called me to give me the codes for entering the hotel. The hotel itself is in a fabulous old building, centuries old, and full of charm and fabulous old features. The room was large, airy, well equipped (air-conditioning) and had a good bathroom. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of home-made jams. The location is really convenient to the town centre and all the nearby restaurants, town square and Friday market. If you like charmless, bland, chain hotels, then this is not for you, but if you want to stay in a building that has centuries of history and fabulous decor, then don't hesitate. The staff were also very friendly. A similar room in the centre of Paris would cost hundreds of Euros. This lovely hotel is great value for money.

Central LocationNice hotel close to main square. Good large room with plenty of room to lay out two suitcases. Room had two double beds. Mini bar fridge in room but no kettle. Had a aircon thermostat but very poor delivery of cool air. Double windows that opened out to allow for fresh air. Good free WIFI. Secure holding shed for bicycles. Had quite a good meal in the hotel restaurant. Disappointing to receive a bill for 5 Euros to have water with our meal. Fair enough to pay for our glasses of wine ~but to pay for water as well is a bit over the top. Arrived in town on a midweek public holiday. No stores open ~ensure you take note of the pin number for the front door as the hotel is also locked up during the afternoon.

Nothing "GRAND" at all! What a total disaster this so called "hotel". The rooms are in urgent need of total renovation but please start with new beds, linens and pillows. We did not/could not sleep because of the horrible mattress and pillows. No extra toilet roll in the bathroom! Why? Breakfast is OK, nothing special. The place looks runs down, clean up! We got a lecture about wearing a face mask BUT no one did! We had to use the public bathroom in the cellar (as there was no toiletpaper in the room) and I would not advice anyone to go down there.....you are not alone....

What an interesting findLarge very traditional hotel with large staircase ( no lift) and lovely big rooms. The hotel has no parking but there is street parking available. The breakfast was good with a good selection of items. We all loved the character of the building and found the staff most helpful. A great experience snd just minutes away from Limoux's lovely central square where you can watch the world go by.
