    Uno de los mejores hoteles

    La decoración es preciosa, inspirada en el ambiente marinero y playero que le rodea. Resalto lo confortable dd las habitaciones y sobretodo la cocina gourmet totalmente deliciosa que sirven. Tanto el comedor donde se desayuno con vistas a la costa como el restaurante del último piso...son simplemente increíbles. Un hotel al que ir si te dejas caer en Den Helder.

    Location, friendly staff and value for $ - Solid 3.5 star

    I stayed at the Grand Beatrix for one week recently while on business in the area. The hotel is in an amazing location right next to the sea, which includes incredible walking/running paths and grand vistas. My coleagues have stayed in other hotels and B&Bs in the area and the clear consensus is, Grand Hotel Beatrix is the best hotel in Den Helder area. The hotel is partially haandicap accessible, as there is a ramp outside and a single elevator, however, many (but not all) of the rooms would not be accessible by wheel chair. Parking is plentiful and free, including free parking on the street. (also in downtown Den Helder, parkiing is free everywhere) There is a nice entrance and lobby with a cozy bar/restaurant adjacent. To get to my room I leave the lobby and travel up a flight of stairs, then down a halway with several mini down stair sections. The decor of my room and the hallways is dated and dark. What room features did my room have or didn't have? - Hairdryer: YES - SAFE: NO - Pen and paper: NO - Hotel directory of services: NO (i didn't know they had a pool till just before checkout) - Work desk and chair: NO - Adequate storage space: YES - Telephone: YES The towels were high quality and well stocked Bathroom amanenities (shampoo/body wash/body lotion) refilled as required The bed is low and I did sleep well on it, although I could feel bed springs inside. Glasses provided in th room are thin plastic, althogh somewhere after the 5th day, 2 real glass glassses arrived. The room is fairly sound proof, but the crack under the door to the hall has about a 3/4 inch gap. The small balcony is nice, however the door was difficult to lock. The bottom glass door seal in the bathroom was detached, and one day I didn't see it there anymore, so I assume housekeeping ripped the remainederr off, so a lot of water would leak on the floor. There is a mini bar, which you can unload to put your own stuff in. The flat screen TV is on the small side, but has plenty of free channels. Breakfast was pretty good. The coffee machine is excellent - cappucino or any other type of fresh ground coffee. There was no cut fruit and most of the single fruit pieces were not ripe enough - some hard kiwis. The view was really nice from the upstairs or downstairs breakfast rooms. Staff was very friendly, especially Rick in the breakfast room, who was the most engaging. Overall, this hotel wins on value for money, considering it's superb location and the price I paid. A few modest improvements would really help.     Very good hotel

    I have been in that hotel twice (a month and 3 weeks respectively) for business and I really enjoyed my stay. Staff is very friendly (you just have to meet Rik from breakfast) and accommodating. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Pets are also allowed and I've seen many poeple with dogs. The restaurant downstairs is open until 10pm (a rare thing in that area), the food is good and about the same price as in any other restaurant. There's also a more "fancy" restaurant upstairs but I have not tried it. The pool is clean and the wet and dry saunas are a great plus. Parking is free but you may need to park further down the street sometimes when it's crowded. I have to say they have one of the fastest internet connection I have seen in an hotel, but that could be a Netherland thing. The hotel is strangely constructed with lots of stairs on each floor. If you have a problem with stairs, I highly recommend to specifically request a room close to the elevator. Well placed for nature lovers, the hotel is right on the sea shore with a long bike/pedestrian path and beaches. You can sometimes walk on the path of the protected area close by and see wild horses and yacks up close.

    Finally some lights

    I have been frequenting the Hotel Beatrix for work for quite a number of years and. finally. they have started remodeling it and bringing some lights into the rooms. Since I am used to travel in Den Helder for a quick business visit, I only stay one night and sometimes I do not have even the time for a breakfast; this time, I was lodged in a new room, with a lot of lights and facing the North Sea: delightful; pity, again, it was a short visit and I could not enjoy the stay a bit longer. An odd thing is that the hotel now offer a smart TV, but you cannot do anything since it is not connected to the internet.
