  An imposing interior, with great panoramic views

  A large modern hotel, with a beautiful suite of ground floor rooms in traditional style. The hotel itself is on the outskirts of Guglionese, a small town a few miles inland from Termoli in Molise, and set high on a ridge, overlooking the surrounding countryside. We stayed for one-night in May on our way to Puglia; clearly off-season, as the hotel seemed otherwise all but empty. But the service was friendly and helpful - especially during breakfast, where they were keen to offer our preference of freshly cooked egg, bacon etc. Good value too, at (our presumably off-peak price of) 75 euro. Our room was clean and comfortable, though a little basic / dated, and with a good bathroom. We also had a breath-taking view over the surrounding countryside from a small balcony. The hotel also has a very attractive large outside terrace with great views, and a large function room - both of which were being used for a wedding reception when we arrived (which from a later look at the hotel website, it seems they do often). Good value, friendly and welcoming.

  Italian Charm

  We stay here on our annual trip to Turkey. Nice drive from motorway, quiet hotel with lovely staff, evening meal, breakfast and lunch (best cheese omelette I have ever had) are excellent and inexpensive. Very grand reception area and noyhing is too much trouble for the attentive staff..

  A joy to find this hotel with stunning views in the middle of nowhere

  It is very difficult to find a good hotel by the sea in this part of Italy so we ventured inland and came across the Hotel Aljope. Having found it we now go back time and time again, always for an overnight stay. The hotel is not far from the motorway but very tricky to find as it is on the summit of a hill with very windy roads but, it has the most amazing views. It must be about 30 kilometres from the sea yet the expansive vista one experiences is breathtaking if you have a head for heights. The family run hotel is like a step back in time and they are very friendly if you speak Italian. The rooms are basic but very clean. Dinner begins with a choice from the buffet. The food is a bit hit and miss: it can be excellent but it is always adequate. If you are lucky enough to stay there when they are having a function (wedding, for example) you are served what is on the menu. There are always dishes of the day and if it is not to your taste they will cook something else for you.
