Conviently locatedStayed here for one night with family on a weekend in Wales. I chose the hotel due to its central location, low cost, and breakfast being included. On those counts, the Grand Ash met my expectations. It is right in the heart of Llandudno. The full English I had was good and the staff quick and friendly. Good: The bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, and the hotel was quiet at night. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Not-so-good: The Grand Ash has seen better days. Everything from the carpets to the wallpaper is worn and old. We had a room that is used as a fire escape, so we had a green night light to keep us company all night long. The tea kettle was half full of some questionable water, one of the hand towels smelled of men's cologne and and courtesy shampoos were half emptied. So, you get what you pay for and the Grand Ash met my needs as a safe and convenient place to spend the night.

DisappointedI feel I have to write a review on this hotel as the photos they use to advertise the hotel are nothing like what you go into. Our room has terrible water stains all over the walls the widows were covered in grime obviously not been cleaned for months the air vent on the wall was broken and covered in dust the carpet was covered in hairs and terrible stains do I need say anymore all I can say thank god it was for one night only.

Never Again !!!!!!We had booked The Grand Ash for the night of 27th May since no other accomodation was available due to Bank Holiday weekend. We were driving through UK and arrived at around 7:00 PM on 26th evening from Liverpool. We were given a room which was actually the fire exit lobby. We were laughing all night imagining the plight of other guests in case of a an emergency since they have to jump over the three of us lying in three beds in a cramped space of less than 100 sq.ft. In my 52 years of life, I have never experienced anything like this and I kind of enjoyed it. Jokes apart, the hotel is completely run down and has serious security issues. The Manager was not hostile as some of the other travellers had mentioned. WiFi was very weak inside the rooms and was available only in the lobby and some common areas. The funniest part was the entire room was sloping from one side to the other and my wife was apprehensive that she may roll off the bed in her sleep. Everything about the hotel was completely run down and dated. Well, they never claimed that its a 5 star hotel. The saving grace was the Breakfast because the staff were extremely nice and they served full english on request. We checked out at 10:00 after B'fast and well that is it. I'm sure that there are much better hotels in Llanddudno, but you need to book early. The Trip Advisor ranking is almost perfect (59/60) and that tells the story. One word of advice for the Manager. You have what you have and there is no way you can make it better unless you refurbish the whole thing. Therefore be receptive to the complaints by the guests as your property is far below expectations. You dont have to be harsh and intimidating in your responses as the same is will only further degrade your property. Please stay at your own peril.

Get what you pay for.Stayed for 1 night with my young son so we could have weekend in Llandudno. Didn't need a posh hotel so looked for clean with good location at a reasonable price. Given the date (late July) this was as reasonable as we could find, £85 for a twin b&b. The room was on top floor with lovely view of the Orme. The wallpaper was pealing in several parts, the WiFi didn't work, the shower was very poor and TV signal was a bit hit and miss. However it was comfortable enough for the night, we both slept pretty well and sheets and towels were all clean and of good quality. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but not inedible. Doubt I'd stay there again unless improvements were made but for 1 night at a cheap price I don't expect too much.

Great for Conferences and short breaksThe stay itself was good, I was travelling for a conference so only needed a solo room. the room itself to describe the one i had is like university accommodation. (Which is what I was kinda expecting). A good location for those going to Venue Cymru. The room itself was clean and kept to a good temperature, and while though my room had faced the main road by the wetherspoons, I do have to say it never disturbed my sleep at all. The only thing i didn't like was the creepy little lift but other than that the stay was good and really helpful staff that do go the extra mile. I was a little late for the breakfast times on the sunday (extra little lie in) and to be fair the staff still were only to happy to offer me a cooked breakfast on top of the cold items already out.
