Exceptional Value in a Secluded Location with Great Natural Thermal Water
Located about 10 miles from the beautiful river town of Amasya, Gozlek Thermal Resort offers much with cabin rentals for families, a camping area and hotel rooms. While rather remotely located, the grounds are large with good recreation facilities for children. Eagles nest on the tops of area electric transmission towers. While the eagles were off in the mountains during our stay, their HUGE nests remain. A natural thermal spring is the reason for the resort and its location. The enormous, indoor, natural thermal swimming pool is the perfect temperature and especially enjoyable because constant replenishment of the water means no chlorine! Officially a two-star hotel, I believe it is severely under-rated. Having stayed in many hotel throughout Turkey, I would say that it deserves at least three, very honest stars. The hotel rooms are on the small side, usefully furnished and very clean with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are all very large and outfitted with a large Jacuzzi tube with natural thermal water. The restaurant serves typical Turkish food. All tasty and very reasonably priced. Buffet breakfast is included and half-board (breakfast buffet and a la carte dinner) is available. The staff is friendly, helpful and cheerful. This was a very long holiday and we were in great need of laundry when we arrived. To my surprise, there was no charge for laundry but I did offer a generous tip that was only accepted after saying, "Lutfen" (please). Amasya is a tourist town but you will see mainly Turkish tourists. We had four days and it was honestly our favorite inland town in Turkey. Not too large, not too small, great sightseeing, great people, great food and the lowest prices of any tourist town I have visited in Turkey. Be aware that this is very much a family-oriented resort. Alcohol is not served in the restaurant and you should not consume in public areas of the hotel. Beer is available at the hotel, but you will be politely asked to drink in your room. I was told that the resort is most popular in the winter months when hamam services are also available. While not officially "open" the hamam area was do-it-yourself. I saw no women or girls at the large indoor pool but there were definitely female guests in the hotel. Perhaps there is a separate pool for women.

Not recommended - very old, needs to be renovated
We stayed two Nights here and it was not at all worth the money. 20 Minutes from amasya away, Staff is really Not Interested in their guests and their well being. Rooms are very old with hard beds, smelling toilet and sink, breakfast was simple as in a hostel and also the *spa/pool area* you dont want to enter.
