    Dated Hotel

We recently spent 2 nights in this hotel although it was just a base to sleep at night for the price I expected it to be better. Firstly and most importantly Id like to address a serious safety issue. We had a family room on the top floor and there were no safety locks on the windows, the beds were also placed under the windows so easy for children to climb up, I urge the management to address this issue as its an accident waiting to happen! The hotel was grubby, corridor carpets were dirty, our room had an old leak patch on the ceiling, the bath panel was broken, the hot tap didnt work on the sink the beds were old and uncomfortable and if you want to actually get wet in the shower then do not stay here as a trickle is all you got at best. Some of these issues are easily fixed with simple re-decoration and cleaning procedures, they stated on the website they had re-decorated some areas although I saw no evidence of this. We were also told to park in the Drs surgery, we had seen comments on here before our stay so we knew this wasnt a good option - its really concerning that the staff are still recommending this their guests. To end... I gave this hotel the 2nd star because of location to the beach and because their housekeeping staff seem honest, I left my necklace in my room after leaving and when I called it had been handed in, they said they would post it back and true to their word they did albeit 3 weeks after them saying they would as apparently their internet was down and they couldnt get my address Saundersfoot and Tenby are lovely and we will return, just not to this hotel.

    Faultless

We stayed at the Gower hotel for a weekend break and it was fantastic. Staff were really helpful, bar had really good prices and drinks to offer and the meal we had in the restaurant was exceptional. Breakfast was delivered to our rooms because of Covid restrictions and it was delicious. Would recommend to anyone.

    Needs work!

We stayed here as a family of four for two nights in August. I was looking for last minute accommodation and there wasnt much available. The website makes the hotel look lovely so I was happy with our choice. Payment was taken immediately but warning bells were ringing when I got no booking confirmation. After 3 days of trying to get through, I finally got confirmation and we looked forward to our stay. On arrival we were greeted by a young girl on the desk who was polite enough. Our rooms werent ready but there was room in the car park so we parked up and went to the beach. When we came back she told us our room numbers and we stood waiting for keys. She had turned round and was back working on her computer. I finally asked to be informed they were in the door. We had two rooms. The first, a double on the second floor, was not big enough to swing a mouse let alone a cat. Our sons had a third floor twin that was much better. The rooms are dated and the bedding has turned from white to a yellow/light brown colour. They smell clean, as do the towels, but they were very stained. I had a chat with the young lad and girl on reception about our room and they promised to swap it if they could. They had a queue of complaining customers and looked absolutely frazzled. I felt sorry for them. They really did do their best to help but the hotel needs thousands spending on the rooms to bring it up to scratch. True to their word, the next day they found us another room. It was much bigger but still very dated with grotty bedding. However, ten out of ten for customer service. They were working really hard in difficult circumstances and I couldnt fault them for that. At the back of the hotel there are pipes, fridges and fans going all night. We had to shut the window in the end as it was stopping us sleeping. Breakfast was served in a polystyrene tub as a preventative covid measure. They did their best. The hotel is in a great spot, right in the centre of town. It could be fantastic and the staff have the right attitude. I really hope it does well enough to be able to spend some money on the rooms and bring it up to standard. It could be a really smart hotel with some work. The staff were really helpful and aimed to please and we had a nice break.

    Cosy independent hotel

Had a lovely 2-night stay in September, free parking and breakfast was included. The breakfast was delivered to the room in the morning due to Covid and there was a good choice, tasty bacon. It was in the perfect location and during our stay we walked along the coastal path to Amroth, Tenby and we also drove to Bosherston for walks around there. Staff were very helpful and friendly, all work masks. We didnt drink in the bar but it looked cosy.

Perfect location, lovely hotel, wonderful staff

We booked this hotel, in need of a night away with friends to escape the daily grind! The Gower didnt disappoint. On check-in, we were given all the information needed and advised on where to eat as lots had sadly closed (Covid). The lady was lovely, really helpful. We went to our room and found everything we needed for a family of 4. The huge bath was an added bonus!! Spotlessly clean, lots of towels, good selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits, etc. A very homely feel to the room, not like a chain hotel. Breakfast was superb!! The gentleman in the restaurant couldnt have done more - the food was good quality, piping hot and delicious. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas too. Carpark was good too, access to hotel from it, as well as the front. Would definitely stay again.
