  Overdue for a Reno

  We stayed here on a Sunday evening, two adults, one teen, and our two dogs. We were charged a surcharge of $45 for having the dogs with us, which brought our total to $180 for the night. Wildly expensive for the state of the hotel. Dated and in disrepair. We changed rooms because our first did not have functioning a/c and the toilet seat was half off its hinges. The staff was very pleasant accommodating the change, but our new room had no a/c either, lumpy carpet, curtains were hanging off rail, and there was carving in the wood wall. As an advertised pet friendly property, the 40 dollars seems excessive. Staff were kind and helpful, property just really needs an update.

  Needs renovations

  We hadn't stayed at a Gouverneur hotel for a long time, and had higher expectations. Indeed we were surprised to see that this hotel needs urgent renovations, albeit the beds were very very comfortable and the view over the water amazing. We recommend going out to eat as the food is very ordinary and bland.

  Avoid At All Costs

  Well where do we begin? Do we start at the decor of the room? which is exactly the same as it was when the place closed down for years? Do we start with the disgusting state of the room in general?? Decisions decisions. On entering the room,you are immediately struck by several things.1)The carpet is so old,that Noah possibly had the same on the damn ark.2)The corners of walls are showing bare metal in places.3)If unlucky to have room 431,you will find the a/c unit held in place with expanding foam and not much else.The excuse they gave us was and I quote.."It was Summer so we were to busy to get the work done" Really? I doubt you could fill this place unless there was a Junkies Convention in town,because unless anyone made a mistake like us,then nobody would stay longer than one day in this hovel. Strangely enough,we had a meal in the Restaurant and whether it was a fluke,we don't know,but the food was actually very good. Meanwhile back to the Hotel itself. The cleaning staff seem unable to pick a tray of used plates off the floor,as when we arrived there were two just outside the prehistoric elevator on floor 4 and were still there,despite being informed,24 hrs later. The toilet dripped constantly and even had rust stains down the rear of the bowl,the bath tub had a broken hook,the walls are covered with such sharp plaster-work,that if you tripped,which is high;y possible considering the state of the ancient carpet,then you will rip your skin to the bone. So in summing up. AVOID NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!! The only reason it gets a single star in any catagoryis because you can't give zero

  Unfinished mess

  Exposed wires, unfinished installation of the AC unit, mold in the bathroom, ripped carpets. This has fallen a long way from its old charm. I had fond memories of my childhood coming here on my way to my grandparents, but I guess that was the last update and major cleaning.

  A piece of paradise - Symphony boutique hotel in Marari Beach Mararikulam India

  We visited backwaters of India, after Kumarakom decided to stay on the beach side than next to the lake so we arrived to Marari beach to Symphony hotel.. its difficult to describe the beauty of the place. Few villas 200 meters from the arabian sea that onlt some coconuts trees and some bushes is between the villas and the seaside. There is a chef on the premises if you want to eat on your balcony cooks delicious local Kerala meals Amazing huge rooms we had the one with an open shower and toilet and balcony that you see and hear the waves. Its highly recommended and for better price contact the place directly details in one of the pictures
