  Escapada de cuatro dias

  necesitábamos un respiro y decidimos ir a Azerbayan. Llegamos poco antes de los juegos Europeos así que todo estaba limpio arreglado y apunto para recibir a los miles de visitantes que se espera. La elección de nuestro o hotel fue por booking, buscamos algo que estuviera dentro de nuestro presupuesto y el hotel Gorgud lo estaba, unos 70e por noche con desayuno. La recepción del mismo es al estilo de muchos países musulmanes donde el color dorado predomina. Nos atendieron en in ingles aceptable y nos alojaron en una habitación doble con terraza ta, la cual nos dimos cuenta después no cerraba con llave, la habitación limpia si bien las sabanas estaban rotas en un estreno y los muebles tuvieron épocas mejores, el baño limpio y funcional tenía el problema de tener que dejar correr el agua un rato hasta q el agua caliente saliera. La iluminación de la habitación por una parte una la patita de mesa la cual no se podía enchufar pues le faltaba parte del enchufe y las luces ambientes eran en un sospechoso rojo..... El desayuno muy rico y variado , siempre por supuesto al estilo musulman, los cafés orillaban por su ausencia. En definitiva, creo que este hotel no es un cuatro estrellas, mas bien le quedaría como un tres estrellas malo. Espero os sirva de ayuda

  just once

  I was there only once. Rooms are poor, but compared with the price it seems normal. Anyway reception also was normal, did not have a baggage, but the man with me had to carry his own baggage) Anyway it was not my choice...

  poor service

  i visited baku on November and i stayed for overnight there. I thought that hotel must be excellent because it is 4 start but i stayed really totally disappointed. Poor service, staff who doesn't speak English, enter to spa and swimming pool was costed 15$ (approx).bad service

  awful hotel, avoid at all costs

  From the 5 people who tried to check us in - which took 20 mins, to the bar which didn't have enough glasses to pour canned beer into, to the room where the door key couldn't open the door (took 20 mins of wiggling the key on one occasion and several visits to reception)to the awful breakfast, to the shower cubicle with no shower hose and with a hole in the tray, to the vanishing duvets and to the staff who really didn't care, this is a truly dreadful place. Avoid at all costs. The only time the staff were interested was when we left and they wanted to do a room check but chased us down the road as we weren't prepared to wait. Even the location is rubbish

  Run!!!

  A total nightmare! This hotel goes by two other names : the golden palace and grand plaza hotel. After booking I told them that I would be arriving very early in the morning and that I was paying an extra day for those 5-6 hrs. They said no problem and that the room will be ready. My driver would be calling them for adress but nobody ever answered ( later I understood why) and nobody knew of Golden Palace hotel at that location. At my arrival the clerk said that I dont have a room and they can either send me to another hotel or give me an apartment for a higher price. After arguing he said I could have the apartment for the same price as my room. The so-called apartment consisted of 3 separate rooms with shared bathroom and shower, meaning that my room didnt have shower and bathroom. Needless to say I could be seen inside the shower by anyone passing that side. The toilet hadnt been flushed, there were no sheets and no bed cover, there was nothing such as warm water it was either freezing cold or burning hot,the ceiling had a hole with wires hanging and when i asked for a bigger towel ( there was only one small one) they said they didnt have any. The next day they changed my room, the sheets were all dirty with big yellow stains on all of them, the safe didnt work so the tech guy came 2-3 days later to fix it, serious plumbing issues such as toilet not flushing ( had to flush 6-7 times) , water running from below the shower, black mold on bathroom floors and walls, nails and screws and bottle caps on the floor, used condom under bed, No extras such as shampoo and bath gel, restaurant and utensiles dirty with food on the floor and on main table ( with load russian disco music). At some point my door wouldnt lock and/or not open. Careless staff. A total crappy place! I checked 4 days earlier after the AC stopped working in the middle of the night. I had had enough !
