Decent hotel but there are better

This hotel is situated away from the city centre where all the action is. It's a decent hotel, from the board nailed to the wall next to the reception counter, it says that this is a 3-star hotel certified by the Ministry of Tourism. It's not 3-star international standard though. My extended family got into the lift and that was about 10 of us including kids. The lift stalled halfway. It started and stopped and slipped a bit at every start before dying completely. It was a horrible experience. The emergency button failed to work cos the lift completely ceased to function - no electrical supply. The intercom button also failed to work and so we were really stuck. The staff finally managed to get the doors open. We found ourselves in between floors and had to climb out with their help. Not the best introduction to the hotel is it? The staff said we overloaded the lift but there was no person limit or weight limit printed anywhere in the lift and there was overweight limit buzzer... this lift obviously doesn't pass any safety standards anywhere. Other than this incident, the hotel was fine. Aircon was really cold. Shower worked fine for 4 of the 5 rooms. My room was a bit wonky but overall ok. No shower screen though... so much for 3-stars... not really recommended... there are better hotels for $23 a night.

    great hotel

great hotel super nice people, helpful on any request. Brilliant breakfast. Rooms were big and very clean the best hotel I got I in Asia for reasonable price. A bit far away from the city centre but there are a lot of tuk tuks you can easily find on the street.

cockroaches in the bathroom and clogged drainage

So we stayed there for an over night stay in PP. Terrible experience. There were cockroaches in the bathroom on our arrival. The toilet roll was soaked in water and then dried and put back in its place. The towels belonged to a couple of decades ago, stained and rotten! The drainage was clogged so no decent shower possible. The bathroom walls, were disgusting, dirty and you could see marks of all previous guests' business there. The sheets... I closed my eyes and assumed they were washed. In general the hotel was pretty old and it felt that nothing has changed since it's opening probably a few decades ago. The only reason we stayed there was our early morning flight. With their price we probably could stay somewhere decent or at least cockroach-free! The breakfast was basic, we didn't get a chance to see their full table as we were getting a flight, but doubt we missed anything. Given the quality of the room, one could guess the quality of the kitchen.

Best Place to Stay in Phnom Penh

I stayed here for long time. Very humble and Curtious English speaking Staff. Neat and Clean Hotel. Rooms are spacious with good ventilation. Economical! Value for Money . Secure ! Good Space for Parking . Only one thing you will miss I.e. swimming pool. But still I recommend this Hotel as best place to stay in Phnom Penh.

Some rooms are infested with roaches

I stayed here two nonconsecutive nights in the same week in July. The first night the room was fine, clean and quiet. No complaints. The second night the room was infested with roaches. I got up in the middle of the night to find seven or eight crawling around on the ground and on the sink, in my things. Even after I killed a few, there were many more. I had a room facing the street and it was noisy from time to time with honking cars. There was no shower curtain so the bathroom gets very messy after a shower. Both times the staff were nice and spoke English well. I didnt have the breakfast because, if the room is that infested, Im not eager to try to kitchen if you know what I mean.
